What about What?
So about two years ago I bought a jacket off of CL in Portland for $50 shipped. The Guy that I talked to said he got it given to him by his friend who raced bikes, so the jacket had seen close to 200 mph :D . Well it fits awesome so I am not complaining but I have no idea what kind of jacket it is and I have had fiends ask me where they can get one like it. Here are some pics of the jacket, I have done some searching around but cant find anything.

Well for one thing, it's made in Pakistan...

Yeah, I have read some of the negative reviews on cheap Pakistani leather, but this one is remarkably well made if it is really a cheap jacket. Solid thick leather, good stitching, good zippers and comfortable to boot, again pleased for the $50 mark. Just wondering if it is old and that is why the quality better or am I just Lucky? ;D

About 25 years ago I was involved in the rag trade in the UK. We also imported sporting goods [ boxing, cricket, cycling ] from India and Pakistan - although mainly India.

We had a batch of sample leather jackets came through with one consignment to see if we were interested. Similar to the one pictured and several variations. Some were more fashion styled - with a kid leather finish, going right up to extremely thick but still supple bike jackets. Quality was the equal to anything we had here in the UK [ sorry Lewis Leathers ] and they were a fraction of the cost.
I still have a couple of the samples somewhere in the loft - be interesting to see if it's the same as yours !

My old business partner has like me retired now, but he still retains weekly connections with India being a volunteer Visa advisor.

It HAD occurred to me that with all the current Cafe Racer interest it might be worthwhile checking out the old suppliers. ????

Just wear it and enjoy the jacket for what it is. Unfortunately, Pakistani motorcycle leathers have absolutely no collector or cachet value.
