Idle actin' crazy

My CB360 is acting strange when it's warmed up and at idle.

When I start my engine it idles just fine (1200-1500) but after a few minutes of riding and the bike warming up it starts to almost... "stick" at higher RPMs... (I use stick for lack of a technical term)

I'll pull up to a red light and it'll be running at like 3000! If I let the clutch out a little and give it something to pull on it'll sometimes drop back down to a reasonable level. But never to where it should be when stopped at a red. Next light... the idle might be fine at 1200 or it might be at 3000 again or it might be anywhere in between...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check your points and timing. Adjust the idle screw. It only does it when warm? Make sure your carbs are synched, and working correctly.

+1 on the sync

Running high after warming up could be an indication of a rich condition as well. Check those air mixture screws.

I know I am running rich. Don't think I have leaks... but only tested the carb boots. Will check timing and points too. Thanks for the tips!

My 360 is doing the same thing and it's running really rich I ordered a carb rebuild kit because the needles and were scored and worn down pretty bad.

Just don't get the Keyster kit. Never used one myself, but heard enough bad stories to not want to.

Check your floats. Same thing just happened to my dad's CB450. Idle was fine but the revs were "sticking". One of the floats ended up being way off.
