Alright gents, it has been a while since I was on here, I still pop in every now and again to see whats new. I have been missing working on an old bike for a while now. So I pulled the trigger, and got something a little different. Its a 1966 Bridgestone 175 DT two stroke. The plan is to go full faring street legal road racer. It's pretty rough, but that's how I like to start with them. Only set me back 100 bucks. Some of you guys may remember my little CB360 for a year or so ago, almost right after I finished it somebody offered to trade me straight across for a little MGB GT in great shape. I couldn't refuse. I still have the MG and its a daily driver. I look forward to the little bridgestone. I semi new to two strokes so it'll be a learning experience.

Sure do! glad you asked I have changed the grill a few times and added and removed stripes and fog lights. to keep things interesting. right now it has the recessed 72 grille and the lucas foglights and no stripe
I built the seat on my 360 my self, and well 99.9% of everything on that 360 my self, PJ did my carbs, sonreir did my speedo sticker, and the honda place in town mounted my tires. other than that, it was all me. I don't think I can really built my own full faring and tank for the bridgestone so I will probably go the airtech route. kinda takes away some of the fun of building it my self, but I want this look! I am going to try and build my own expansion chambers though. thatll be fun. and ill teach my self to lace up some akront shouldered alloy rims and come up with some other ways to teach my self new stuff. anyway ill pick out my own paint scheme but bodywork wise it should look about like this. still, its freaking sexy! OH and if anybody knows anything about these old bikes id love to hear it!
Well balls. I drove 100 miles round trip for nothing. The bike was trash. Chunks of the engine case were missing, didn't look like much if anything was salvageable. I am pretty sure the frame was bent, oh well, sometimes you need to know when to walk away... I have a cb350 twin lined up for tomorrow so I will try that and see if that one woks out. It looks like it is in great shape
Yeah, its a bummer. I wish it woulda worked out, but this CB350 looks like a really easy bike to get going. I have always liked them it seems to be in great shape and it is in the budget.
plus, people race cb350 twins right? i know its not a two stroke, but it will be a lot more familiar than the bridgestone. I'm still thinking full faring. i stubmpled across this one and i really really like it.
Oh yes, people most definitely race CB350's. They can be made super fast!!! Check out sites like thrhonda.com and teamhansenhonda.com
Be prepared to spend lots of money to build a really fast CB350. We actually have a class in USCRA dedicated to CB350's, because they were destroying the rest of the 350GP class...like ridiculously destroying Ducati 350's and even Kawi 2 strokes...
Some CB350's, like the #600 bike you will see on Todd Hennings site, runs in Middleweight Production, since he's so fast.
holy crap, well that is cool to hear. I will for sure check out those sites. thanks for those I got all the time in the world. so the plan is to first make it run, then make it pretty. then make it fly.
