Been Around the Block
Hey All,

My name is Jason and I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. Don't know where my love for vintage motorcycles came from (I'm only 25), but I've got the bug and there's no stopping it... I got my endorsement at the ripe age of 16 and have been riding ever since.

Here is my most recent, and first cafe racer project:

I bought it on craiglist in October of 2007 for $1100. It ran fine on the ride home, died at the first stop light right off the exit, and has been sitting in my cousin's garage ever since - until now. Did some diagnostics and repair this past weekend, and she roars!!!

I'll create a new post in the project section with a list of what I've already done to it, and future plans (within the next 3 months). Nice to be here, and I look forward to interacting with you all. In the meantime, check out my blog: www.rjrcreative.com/bike for updates, which i will most likely be mirroring to posts on this very site.

If any of you want a custom blog hosted on your own domain to journal your progress, let me know. i'm a graphic designer. and yes, i do it well. sorry for the shameless plug.

Vrooooom!!!

Looks like a great starting point for a project.

Oh, and it's Maintenance by the way ;)

Looks like you're in/around Seattle - welcome! We might try to get some rides going sometime soon, we'll keep you posted!

Welcome dude! That bike's a solid starting point. Tons of potential! I'm way down in Gulf Shores, Al, practically the other end of the world. I'm building a sohc 750 too though, and I've got spare motors and lots of parts, so if ya need anything, let me know, and as long as it's not too big, we'll get it to ya for shipping cost.
Hope to see that bike rolling hard in cafe trim real soon!
Alex

Looks like there are a few of us 206'ers representing on this site! I've already networked with a few mechanics/restorers in the area, with access to TONS of parts and resources. One thing my newbie-self has noticed about the vintage motorcycle community is how tight-knit everyone is, and how people just offer to help out of kindness. ROCK!!!

This weekend I hope to be out and riding. Bought a tank off ebay, it's shipping Friday, I'll be cleaning, reassembling, and riding Saturday into Sunday. The mods don't stop there!!

you will find a crud ton of people who are graphic designers who also custom out their rides, its crazy, myself included. esp here and the jockey journal boards.

If you know of any crusty old dude who wants somebody to listen to his war stories while he shows me how to stick rearsets and clubmans on my bike then let me know!
