You can always get it running with time or money.
Hi folks,
The ignition coils on my CB360 were getting funky when hot and causing the bike to stall out. As this was the second set of OEM (read: 36 year old) coils that had failed on me, I decided to look for a modern replacement that wouldn't cost me all of my dollars.
I found that Yamaha XT600 coils (from at least '92-'95) have the exact same bolt spacing as the stock 360 coils, and found them for $14 a piece with free shipping on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271183643901
I'm not associated with the seller or anything, they just had a good price and the coils work well for me. I tested both of the coils with my multimeter and they both came up as exactly 4.5 ohms. That means they'll only be pulling 3 amps a piece with battery voltage at 13.8 volts. Here's a picture of them installed on the coil bracket:
Note that I had to make adapter wires as the new coils use spade connectors and the 360 uses bullet connectors. Also note that the spark plug wire and power wires are on opposite sides on this coil, instead of the same side on the 360 coil. Not too big a deal - I cut the wires off my junk coils and added spade connectors.
I'm not 100% if these coils need resistor spark plug caps - I'm using the caps that came with the coils. Hopefully more knowledgeable folks will chime in. These coils may also work for 350s, but I don't have one of those so I can't speak to that
