It all depends on how well you seal the plane when you rig it. We usually use white electrical tape to bridge the joints where the wings meet the fuselage. If there's even a 1/4" overlap or a corner sticking up into the airflow it'll cause whistling or buzzing. A guy flying a new discuss 2 like that though is a pretty slippery customer.

To give you an idea, it's not quite so serene in the cockpit:

Dude...this is awesome. I say this is the adrenalin junkie thread right here - everyone post up what you got!

And yeah gliders are champion, flew one when I was back in Scouts. Didn't get a tow up to altitude though, we just had an old V8 out of a GM or a Ford and it spooled in the cable attached to the front of the glider. Best lauch ever haha, freaks you out something crazy the first time!

Dakine, that is one of the coolest videos I have ever seen, so awesome. Do you know if his suit is weighted? How does he fall effortlessly like that? I'd chalk it up to letting his lungs out but he expells so much air at the end. Both me and my Dad sink for some reason no matter how much air we hold in our lungs, no one has ever explained why to me, just curious. Thanks for the vid!

bob.

Red bull is one of the sickest companies out there. I hate the drink but I give them major props for how far they push sports to the unreal. That wing suit in the first video there is an entire film edit that is insane wish I could find it. [flash=200,200]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyGmTV0q2kY[/flash]

I love the soaring ones. Here's a few snaps from a trip back to NZ. My fathers glider is down there in Omarama. Sorry for the thread jack.

Fuck yeah standard cirrus. My dad flew one as his contest plane back in the 80s.

I've got some buddies with the jack to head down to Omarama for a winter vacation every couple years. I'm still trying to find a video I had of the psychos there ridge hopping 5 feet off each other's wingtips and 10 feet off the sheer, 900 foot tall rock face.

I remember a story of a guy down there hopping over a ridge and winding up with an arrestor-hook landing. Turns out the ridge was a shepard's pasture and there was a single wire fence so short you couldn't see it in the tall grass. This guy went over the ridge so low and slow that he caught a 4 foot tall wire fence with his tail wheel and wound up on the ground unhurt.

Fresh water vs salt water can make quite the difference too.
