inside of Forks, where outer oil seal sits looks bad

SO I have a Nighthawk 450. The lower case that houses the seal looks kinda rough. I'cleaned it up best I could but there are lots of pits and old rubber and oil stains (their black and don't come off is all I know). My question is, Is this normal, or am I fucked.

Pictures. Not being an ass, but you could try and describe the issue all day but until we can actually see it... You're very unlikely to get any help.

From your description, I have no idea which case or seal you are talking about. Pictures...if you don't have a pic of your bike, borrow a pic of the same model and point out where the issue is.....
