Invisible Helmet

Worst. Thread. Ever.

Why do you feel the need to be an ass? Its an interesting enough vid about thinking outside the box. Creativity. Forward thought. Apparently concepts lost on you somehow.

And if you dont like it, ignore it.

Fuck you, but I had Shockwave disabled in my browser. No video showed in the post, so I thought the post was blank.

Oh, so you thought it was someone being an ass, so you responded like an ass, which made me call you an ass... Than once you realized the fuck up in the situation, you proved that I was correct in my assumption that you were an ass. And the world goes round and round...

Innovative for sure. But when I saw it, my first thought was Chris Farley in Tommyboy...

LMFAO!!! TOO FUNNY!!! Alpha Dog, Von, the Tommy Boy post

I'm thinkin it has an on/off feature on it (then you zip it up) so it'd be fine in the house/being thrown around/trunk of a car etc.

it is a little bulky/funny looking, but holy crap is it cool

In the last few years there's been a HUGE surge in worn, airbag-assisted personal protection gear. Jackets, vests, now helmet/collars.
While this is still an infant technology, I would venture to guess that in 5 years it will be commonplace to find airbags available in most all of our gear.
In in 10 years, I predict it will be fully expected in every piece of gear, fully regulated, and even "weird" not to have it. Just like seat belts in every car, or a DOT sticker on every helmet....

I am not yet prepared to wear air-bag assisted safety gear, but the jackets I have seen online look well thought out. The air bags deploy very fast, activated by a microprocessor, and inflated by standard CO2 canister (like for BB guns...). After activation the canister is replaced, the bags fold back up and are snapped into 'hidden pockets.' Everything is ready again for redeployment in moments.

This stuff may not be very 'retro-cool,' but it IS the future of motorcycling.

Cool video.

I was watching, thinking "yeah, typical designer idealism without delivering much realism" and then BAM! My mind was blown all over the place by a protective hood being blown up around the rider's head. I can see it working for bicycles, but it would need some serious abrasion resistance for freeway crashes on a motorcycle. Wonder if they'll ever put a DOT stamp on something like that to replace hard helmets?

I wonder if you will have a USCG (Coast Guard) stamp next to the DOT one haha! Most of our freeways here around New Orleans are over water so it would kill two birds with one stone! Bahzing!

I just thought of a new game: Try to set of your friend's gear airbag.
