Ist project on a tight budget

Two weeks ago we got a CB250n, been in storage for years, brakes seized but engine turns over. Planning to build a bobber/scrambler. This will be my sons daily ride so not aiming for a show bike.
Our target is to get it on the road by the end of September and then add the bling as and when he can afford it.
So far frame and bits painted. Engine next and then sort out the carbs.

Been thinking of doing one of these next, or maybe a CB250RS as looks a bit more old school with spoked wheels. Will be following this build, have fun and good luck.

Nice bike Nicko, Yes I like Shiny things and have access to a spray booth. I etch primed followed by high build primer, gave everything a coat of satin black from an aerosol as its easier to get in all the nooks and crannies.
I then put a coat of water based black metallic and finished off with two coats of acrylic lacquer. Still have the forks to paint and as yet undecided on the tank colour.

3 weeks into the build and starting to look like a bike again. Engine painted, steering bearings in and engine back in the frame. Pod filters on order, shopping list written, just need to do some research and get it all ordered and then decide on the tank colour...
