It's coming together!

Spring fever has hit pretty hard. I decided to re-do my cb750 and "finish" it more than last year. I made a new harness from scratch, made more sensible rear set brackets, painted the motor, de-cluttered the handlebars, new headlight, new seat and stripped the tank. I need to make a real seat pan with some real upholstery. The pad that's on there was a 10 minute job just on a whim. It's getting there, come on snow, melt!

Thanks fellas, I'm taking taillight suggestions too! I was planning on a vertical side mount and made one today. Eh, I'm not into it. The only issue with a seat mounted light is the back of that seat is angled. I'm thinking ill use a Lucas style light and ill make a wedge to level it out. Anyone have any other ideas, light wise?

Have you considered the all in one Vertical license plate/tail light bracket? DCC has one & if you have have the tools you could easily gen one up.

I think that would look good on your bike. you just have to consider the tail pipe clearance.

Thanks for the input. I did make a vertical plate/tail light holder but didn't like the look. Also, in Illinois they don't technically allow a vertical plate... I've got a thin led strip that I'm going to use. I just need to get some free time to make a plate holder and mount for it.

Man, I coulda SWORE I replied to this post... but must not have hit "Post".
I picked up a Bazer brand B465R Stop and Tail light combo unit for a previous project. No licence plate lamp so that would need bought sepperate, but it's a decent shape and comes with a mounting gasket... measures 4 9/16"L x 2 1/2" H.
Thought it might fit and easily had at most chain Auto Parts stores.

I like the shape of that one Hoosier. I ended up getting an led strip, very unlike my style usually! I made a plate bracket that it will go on and attach to the rear of the seat. This weather is getting me down, too cold to work in my garage. Hopefully I get it all back together soon though, I've made quite the mess for myself haha. I still have to finish my new harness, mount the new seat, clear coat the seat and tank, make trays for the electronics/battery... Sheesh.

Oh yeah, and put on a new chain, sprocket, make an upholstery pan, get it upholstered. I need a heated garage!

Could you imagine the amount of work mid-western men would get done during the winter with a heated garage?

HOOOOOOOOLY Shit.
