Hello everyone. I would like to present one of my quick projects I done at uni years. Major of parts came from Russia or Czech republic. I was lucky getting 1956 s old russian a bit chopped frame. I had lots of bits and pieces in my garage so it took couple of days collect everything I need to get started.
Notice for chrome and bling bling lovers. Sadly in this project the main interest is reliability and daily use. So you might see very weird technical practice which came from thoughts about universe while consuming lots of beers. Anyways first measurements were taken by eye just to get heads on what I would liek to change in construction and leaving old school bikes design.
Sorry for bad quality pictures. Been taken with potato and oily hands.
Parts were cleaned and prepared for spraying. I wanted to keep old style look so didnt use any filler. Some parts are more than 50 year old and after shotblasting I found out that the surface is perfect for what I want. In short left all the marks and dents and holes from rust.
I think your bike is freakin awesome. Im w you, I love the rough rear fender, etc. But dude, those yellow painted mufflers?!?!
Also your buddies remind me of a gang of Darth Vaders. "I think I saw a couple Rebel droids messing w your bike earlier, while you were inside taking a pee."
Im on it. But I can certainly appreciate that you like em and that you wanted to keep the originality of the machine. It truly is the quintessential diamond in the rough.
These aren't the droids you're looking for, move along.
Killer bike, any chance you could take a closer picture of the rear "suspension" for me? I'm thinking on bobbing my Norton and would like a little bit of cushion for the sake of being able to take my wife with on the occasional bar hop. That looks like just the ticket, kinda like the old BMWs were.
I love the sound of tick over
Theres old saying about those bikes: When you driving thru the village at midnight you waking up every fifth house there due to his rpms.
