im no carb wizard, so maybe you guys can help. i got a cb175 and right now its not running too good. for one, the pipes are short pipes, so the kid said id have to get new jets for them.

i for sure need new idle air jets, and probably main jets for the pipes.

my questions:

with shorter pipes, should my jets diameter of the opening go a siz up or down?

also, how do i determine what size they are now?

The mains should be around 95 right now - you have to pull them out and look for the tiny numbers stamped onto them. Can't remember what the idle jets are, but you will need bigger jets. You can usually take them to a motorcycle shop and trade them straight up for new ones.

Highly unlikely shop will trade them, unless they are a popular size.
They are about $3.00 each and you may need to 'play' with jetting some.
You'll probably end up with 5~6 sets.
Short open pipes will probably need at least 20% bigger, and, you will have 'flat spots' at several throttle positions
