This is hard.
Wingspan's T500 is an immaculate creation - old school simplicity. A pure Cafe Racer in concept and implementation.
Funjimmy's CB has some incredibly neat touches. It's super clean and a winner in it's own right.
Squadra's FZR is also immaculate. Really clean resto.
The Viagra is interesting and nicely done. I love the fact that it's different, but I'm not a fan of the non functional fat front tire.
A wider front tire, although it might not be the best choice for agility or "flickability," is hardly non-functional. I understand where you're coming from, but keep in mind what he started with. Comparatively speaking, it probably handles like a Ducati now, hehe. Besides, a narrower tire is just a simple swap away--it's not like he put a wide swingarm and 300-series tire on the back of a Bonneville.

I was trying to be frugal with words - laconic even. My vote depends on my opinion, your mileage may vary. To me a cafe racer is highly functional which sounds totally objective, but in reality is highly subjective. So a fat front tire which will tend to slow handling and create a slightly vague feeling at the front end is not what a cafe racer is about. That's my opinion.
Others don't agree and that's great. I don't mean to dis the bike or the builder. I was just explaining why it didn't win for me. I love certain aspects of the bike though, and with a few changes I'd feel way more positively about it.
That's where we are with 4 great choices. We all have opinions and have to choose what works best for us.
Unrelated to the vote, though it most likely is relavent. What time zone are you using when the vote end at 18:11;25 hrs? Inquiring minds what to know???
I'm grateful to all the participants. I think (without getting too 'everyone's a winner' on you) it is important to recognize that the BOTM isn't about which bike is 'best' or better than another. Its all about the personal preferences of the people who vote, and which they like the most.
I think it's very fair to say all the bikes in this month's contest are spectacular. And I think the range of styles this month speaks volumes about the diverse membership here. If I could own one of each of the types of bikes this month, I would (I will someday I'm sure).
