About to start on my first real build.. Fortunately my buddy that I'm wrenching with has built a few choppers as well as a few other metrics. I'm stoked to crack into her! Got several new parts with the bike when purchased so now just gotta tear it all down and start cleaning it all up! I look forward to all of you guys advice and know how as I've seen in all of the other project threads!
My buddy sold if to me after it sitting in one of his storage units for a year or so but the guy who had it before him even threw in this Mojave 360 tank and a seat with the bike all for $500.. The tail section seemed like it should have been for a 750 or another larger framed bike so I went ahead and ordered this seat from HOFI instead. Mocked up possible Paint patterns.. Not sure at this point if she'll get paint for a while.. May just strip and polish the tank for the time being..
I'm new too JB. That bike looks great to start with. And the tank is what I dream about. When I think what I got for $400, I need a buddy who sells me cool stuff for $500 too!!
I'm sure things will move quickly for you. I look forward to watching things happen.
Yeah.. I don't know how but my friend Troy just falls into these deals. It's just my job to then convince him that he has too many projects and let me take them off of his hands!
Took the old tank off, drained gas, and got her running okay.. seems like will need rejetted and a good cleaning. Other than that runs pretty good actually.
Got into the wiring harness this morning. All wires labeled and ready to rewire. I still have to figure out some of the codes from the hand controls. But went ahead and eliminated some of the non-essentials. Start the new harness tomorrow most likely.
