Kawasaki z250a cafe racer

Hi all,
I've been a member for a little while.......read about other people's projects and thought I'd post about mine.
Bought as a total basketcase and this is what I've done in the past 3 months.
I've cut off all excess tabs and brackets, fitted a Gpz250 c front end with twin discs.
Lowered the ignition switch and gauges closer to the headlight, cut off the sidestand and welded further forward.
Welded brackets on and fitted rearsets.
Made a new seat pan to suit the shortened frame.
Next up is sandblast the frame and wheels for powdercoating.

Thought I'd better post up a pic of what i started with.
I've spent the better part of my years building cars and finally saw the light, I wanted a cafe bike.
I'd ridden bikes off and on over the years but never owned one, let alone built one.
Wasn't the best buy but at $100 was a frame and a couple of wheels to get me going.
At some stage in it's early life the engine had stopped........not sure why, but the owner pulled the top end off, obviously lost interest and left it out in the weather to rot.
Bought the second bike for parts, almost complete and not running.
Spent a couple of hours on fuses, oil and fuel and got it started.

I wanted to build a Kawasaki cafe mainly because every-one seems to have Yamahas or Hondas.
Took a little while of searching to find the right one though.

Do you still have the bikini from the red bike? and are you planning on using it?

No, sorry mate.........sold off all the bits I didn't need.
All I have left is the frame and swingarm.

Also I got a kawasaki z250a 1981, can I put the forks complete with spoked wheel of the kawasaki z400?
Are compatible?

I'll be following this one for sure. I have the exact same bike that I'm doing up at the moment
