Hey all I'm super new to all of this so any info helps. Oil has been spewing out of my kickstart onto my foot and muffler. It seems to increase when I throttle. Not sure if it's the kickstart or coming out of the gear box.

Again any info helps!

There is a rubber seal on the right hand side cover that seals the kick start shaft.

You need #7 on the parts fiche most likely. The Honda part # is 91204-286-003 - punch that into eBay or pick one up at your local Honda dealer.

To replace it, drain the oil on the bike, remove the right hand cover. You can pull the spring retainer out with a screwdriver and then gently pop the seal out with a flathead. Clean the seat and oil the seal up before pressing the new seal in. While you're in there, you should clean the centrifugal oil filter. Also, new clutch springs might be a good idea, aftermarket HD clutch springs are readily available, and you'll be in there already.

don't forget a new cover gasket as well as you will likely bugger yours up removing the case cover.

You don't HAVE to take the hole side cover off to replace the kickstart oil seal.

Drain the oil.

Take the kickstart off of the kickstart shaft.

Use something sharp to stab the old oil seal and pry it out.

Clean all the surfaces.

Install the new oil seal. Use a deep socket to drive it in. If you don't have a deep enough socket, use the old oil seal between the new one and whatever you use to drive the new one in.

In fact, if it is on the kickstand, you probably don't even need to drain the oil. Maybe.
