well here she is DONE AND DONE! used a real camera to take the pics, turned off the flash to show the satin finish the tank has
edges are blended and tank is prepped and ready to go!
cold as piss out... but dropped the stuff off by Mike yesterday and slapped the tank on real fast and the rear shocks... has the perfect flow... seat has to go 100% but gives us an idea of the finished product
so... my brother and i saw this you tube vid of this guy puttin on a tire with a trash bag!!!! a trash bag! so figured lets give it a go... man we laughed so hard... took him about 3 min to do it on the video... and us about 35 min with the 2 of us and tire irons... was very funny! i think in the future ill just bring them in the shop and use the machine
these tires are BOSS! look insane just the look he wanted. snapped some pics
tire on
took a bit more than just a trash bag
we then took a profile of the bike to get an idea of what to do on the seat... here is the stock seat... we will prob do something custom of course
I really need to do a "do it yourself tire tech". I'm about the size of one of your legs Joe, and I get my tires on with 2 12" spoons and some bar soap in about 5 min.
Bike is definitely not my taste, but, very clean and thorough as usual. Good Job
man i would love it if you would... we laughed our asses off... his buddy was over and kept playing the you tube video over and over and then reading the comments that others had posted about how easy it was... Swap i would love a how to if you would man, i got some irons my old man gave me but really never use them
I'll tell ya what... It has saved me tons of $ over the yrs. You have a machine, so I dont know how much you would benefit. My buddies bring me there tires all the time.... Probably just to watch a midget wrestle a tire though, ha ha
my problem is the new shop is about 35-45 min away depending on construction... so on the bigger HD wheels i will def go in there and use it.. but at home on the older smaller metrics... i would love to learn a trick... doing the front wheel did take us about 35 - 40 min but it was still less time than it would take to go to the shop and back... just sucked that we had to cut the old tire off... was a good tire
hey JRK, hope you don't mind but i took the liberty to try and make you a bobber/tracker seat, it looks alittle off but i did it in 5 mins in photoshop.
of course not!!!! that is not to bad! my original plan was a tracker seat... but the more he (my brother) and i talk... the more we think it should be able to go 2 up... this sucker will be used for around towna nd to run to and from my house (we live a mile apart) if his girl wants to come over with him to hang out with my wife then she just needs to hop on... the more i think about it the more i think we may jsut do a flat brat style seat... but that does get me thinking... what if we do a brat seat... and skirt it with the skulls?!
the tail is a bobbed stock fender that we speed holed and have a turn sig that we converted to a brake light
not sure to be honest about the grime and crap but this sucker is not going distance just back and forth. it is so small it will not matter... plus it is all powder coated so it will not chip wiht rocks and crap... this weekend the new head gasket went in and we re hones and put new rings on... prepped for powder and paint on the motor
