kz650/1286 fighter

[ultimate fighter]

started it's life as a forgotten old 650 that i bough for $500

Took some time to go thru and replace enough to make it rideable. Looked better than it rode. Shocks were blown and it had a mystery wobble.

after i found it was a combination of warped rotors and loose wheel bearings i changed things up a bit.

made myself a nice little rat fighter

after about 1200 miles on that version i was riding one day and had a nasty knock knock develop in the bottom end.

started making a swingarm with eccentric adjusters

fitted a yamaha 1100 motor with big bore pistons and head

clear clutch cover

cool shock setup with ducati shock

wrapped my tank and made a tail of carbon fiber

this is where i'm at more recently

Not too keen on the tail piece but everything else looks tits! Nice choice in front fender attachment.. whatta those things called? "d-clips"? had one holding my dirtbike seat on, on my 125 while back.. Oh, nice exhaust fab work also. More pics... ready go!

I dont believe thats a "tail piece". that appears to be the stock foam with no cover... Hardly doubt its going to stay that way. Considering all the work thats gone into the rest.

thanks guys, i am making a custom leather stitched seat cover with custom embroidery.
Trying to do everything myself (i'm too cheap to farm things out)
Doing all this on a shoe string budget.

As of right now, i have $1500 with the cost of the bike.

2001 gsxr1000 forks, cbr f3 wheel, ninja calipers, vfr750 rotors.

1985 fj1100 for the swingarm, i used it because i had it laying around and it was wide enough for the wheel i wanted to run.

Yea it's pretty flat up this way, I'm in Lagrange so not to far from elkhart.

this is my leather for the seat

got the light holes frenched in.

LEDs work well. I'll polish the inside of the tunnels for more reflection

rough fitup. tail still needs to be trimmed. It'll be about 5 inches long from the seat
