LADIES AND GENTS..............I'M FINISHED

She's a beaut - love the frame color. You should paint an inner front fender brace black and get it on there to keep the forks working together.

Big ups on the Speed Racer ref 8)

So what did you have to do tuning-wise to get it run well with the open pipe?

That is a mean looking cafe... exudes tough! The big meaty tires, black shorty exhaust, engine covers... TOUGH!

Great job!

Tim's right though... you need as forkbrace up front... handling will vastly improve.

its a dunlop 401 140/90 R16. its really wide for a 140 damn near didn't fit. the rim is a 40 spoke harley rim laced to the hub. the spokes were from TAS.
carbs: low speed jet 40
high speed jet 140
needle clip 2nd notch up from bottom (one down/richer than stock in the middle)
i might back it down to a 135. i really want a 137, but can't find them.
list of places i bought parts
Z1 enterprises go here to get jets $1.08 ea. no, not a typo
partsnmore
sporting for less
a guy names dustyc on SOHC4 did the gauge overlays. $20 can't beat it
cycleX gasket set only
rings rusty riders (ebay)
total cost including $400 purchase price $976.43
all work done by your's truely.

for less that 30 bucks you can get a set of jet reams and create the jet size you want. i do vintage VWs with big engines and i do all my own jetting. i start a touch small and then ream until i get what i need. then i just label the set.

Nice total cost Shortround, hard to believe that a bike looking that good could be had for so little.

Any pics of the guage overlays? I was thinking about redoing mine over the winter.
