As much as you research and think you have it thought through, Mocked and Fitted ... Final assembly brings out the bugs. I can't imagine any builder gets through final assembly without some fixes, changes, adaptations and revelations of how they would do it different "Next Time".
Some end up in the "No one will notice" category, Some require creative thinking due to poor planning, Others a change that actually ends up as good or better than planned.
Case in point.
After being held up for months, on the last part of final assembly, by the painter who forgot to paint my headlight when he painted the Tank & Seat I fired it up for the first time. Only to see the CB450 "Black Bomber" Tach about to Spin the needle off the gauge. Evidently not "All Honda Motorcycles 550cc and smaller" have the same tach ratio. I am driving off a 1979 CM400.
