Hello everyone. My name is Danilo and I am writing from Italy. This is my special based on a 1975 Kawasaki Kz400D, and in addition to showing it to you, I am looking for advice on carburetors: I would like to replace them with Mikuni Vm-like ones, but currently, due to various circumstances, I find myself having a vm30, a vm 32 and a vm34 at home. Consequently, I am forced to buy another one, but at this point, having the possibility of choosing, which one would you recommend I buy?

Nice job. You didn't ditch fenders and screw with handling. It's well done. as for Carbs, Check out Murray's Carbs I think he has a tuned set for the 400 and worth the $$ if he does.

Thank you. Actually my intention was to make it pleasant to look at, but not to distort it to the point of making it look like a set of randomly assembled pieces. Everything was made by hand, so each part is a unique example that is difficult to reproduce. For the carburetors, thank you for the advice, but you have to consider that I live in Italy and in addition to the cost of the carburetors, I have to add shipping costs, VAT and duties, and all this for a fifth bike in the garage, which basically does less than 300 km a year, is an excessive expense.

@Maritime's suggestion may still be of some help to you. If you check out Murray's Carbs to see what he's selling as the prime setup for the KZ400, that might help you decide which size of the three you have would be best.

I would go with the VM30. This is not a race bike and the VM30 will give you the best drivability and low end performance.

I also have a CBR, a VFR and a vmax... The performance of the kz, however much it can improve, I don't think it will make me feel the adrenaline, so what I care about is that the engine runs regularly. And you don't smell like gasoline at idle. I think I'll follow your advice..thanks
