After a couple throttle replacements that didn't work I still need a new replacement. Purchased a universal push/pull and didn't seem to work right at all.
A call to Motion Pro for new cables, they mentioned the bike should be pull only. I'm seeing conflicting info on several forums.
The reason for push/pull setups is essentially safety. If the push fails your throttle could end up in a dangerous position and cause for a dangerous stituation.
So you can run a strictly pull type setup but just be warned something could happen.
Push pull throttles are a joke honda is the only company that held on to the idea and they thought the cb line was good so what the hell do they know. eazy fix....remove the push cable
there is no such thing as a push cable in this application it is a return cable there is no pushing happening both cables are pulled
the return cable allows a rider to shut the throttle
that said as long as you know how to maintain the twist grip so that it snaps back smoothly on its own removing the return cable no biggee just don't panic and forget where the kill switch is in the event of a "situation" however rare that mite bee
