Gentlemen,

Save for a couple of vintage decals, some polishing, and tuning my CB836 is complete. Rolled it out of the house today and snapped a few. Enjoy.

First a pic of it halfway stripped. My comp crashed with the other before pics.

oooh... prettyyy =D

decals needed... seems... somewhat lacking... but VERY pretty! ;D

Decals are drying on the tank overnight, 60's vintage wings. Should set it off nicely.

Very nice loka. As I was l looking at it I was thinking the vintage Honda wings would look sweet on it, then I saw your last post ;D Should look nice!

Is the front caliper polished? Must have been a royal pain to do.

Hard to tell from the pics but what colour did you use, looks real nice.

Thanks Guys,
Yes the calipers are polished, it took some time but it was easier than getting the seized pistons out.
For paint we used a straight metallic base of silver flake and a couple coats of clear.

The pipe is something i got off ebay. The guy was in japan and was offering replica yoshimuras. It has a good sound, seems to flow well enough. I really like the graceful mandrel bending which is kind of opposite from the rest of the hard lines on the bike.

Bars. Yeah, they're great. The bike is really comfortable but of course i set it up for one person to ride... I thought about clip-ons but i found a very clean pair of old style fork ears which i wanted to use.

I think the bike looks good! Just imo those bars take from it. They just don't compliment the bike at all. Cafe Gay bar end mirrors would ruin it altogether.

uh huh....

Mirrors are not going on this bike. Maybe i should change the bars to ape hangers...

Besides, clip ons would interfere with my tank. Not going to risk dents with the amount of work that went into this tank.

looks good man, just my .02$ but needs maybe some numbers or something of importance along the gas tank just to give a little something, it looks fantastic regardless.

Can't believe people have had a pop at this bike. It is sooo sweet.

I agree - nice, tidy work ;) Can't say I've seen a DOHC tank on a SOHC before :p

As for the nay-sayers......well I guess it just doesn't look hip enough without checkers and 59 stickers..... ::).... ;D

Thanks Hillsy, Silrod, bikeboy

You know, I had in my posession 3 cb750 k series tanks. First was too rusty, second one i practiced the knee dents and on the third one i got it right. They were beautiful but they just didn't suit the bike or seat cowel. So i was at the wrecker and i saw this tank and thought the lines were perfect as is. Just changed the filler cap.
