First "mod" re-routed the throttle cable so turning the bars doesn't pull the cable! I really wish I had built the bike myself may have to strip it down and check everything.

56km!

That's barely a couple of times around the block.

It's probably a good idea to check the tightness of bolts and screws. It wouldn't hurt to check valve clearances as well; some bikes seem to have had zero clearance as new.

Congratulations,

Crazy

Cheers crazy,

Second "mod" thought I would half one of the bar clamp bolts!

Just another job to add to the list.

And when you're over the front fork dive every time you brake:

10mm bolts as fork pre-load.

Crazy

This will also be sorted before the weekend is over.

Where is this elusive EGR and what does it do?

you can see it in my third pic at the top it starts with the black steel pipe coming out of the cylinder head and comes backwards towords the little silver unit which then feeds exhaust gases into the inlet. basically reducing power and makes it harder to start.

Wiki description below.

In internal combustion engines, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction technique used in petrol/gasoline and diesel engines. EGR works by recirculating a portion of an engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. In a gasoline engine, this inert exhaust displaces the amount of combustible matter in the cylinder. In a diesel engine, the exhaust gas replaces some of the excess oxygen in the pre-combustion mixture.[1] Because NOx forms primarily when a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen is subjected to high temperature, the lower combustion chamber temperatures caused by EGR reduces the amount of NOx the combustion generates (though at some loss of engine efficiency).[2] Gasses re-introduced from EGR systems will also contain near equilibrium concentrations of NOx and CO; the small fraction initially within the combustion chamber inhibits the total net production of these and other pollutants when sampled on a time average. Most modern engines now require exhaust gas recirculation to meet emissions standards.

So tonight in the man room,

First off trying to get the snapped off bolt out of the top crown ended in snapping the easy out in the bolt! Good job I have some clip ons on their way should be here Monday.

Second thing tonight was to get rid of the air box and fit new filter. Easy done with no breakages. Also plugged the EGR hole in the inlet manifold with an M6x6 grub screw and some lock tight very tidy job but no pics as again it's too dark.

Box of bits getting bigger, going to ditch the starter motor very soon so the wiring is out already.

So today in the man room,

Finally got some pics in the light,

Here she is with a new crank case breather filter, and the starter motor is gone!

I had a 30mm core plug hanging around, just happened to be a perfect fit for the hole left by the starter motor, luck!

To the back end, started to tidy up the taps that are not needed as I have a fender eliminator going on and a tail light going in the hump.

Off to buy a dermal to tidy up my cuts, hand tools are taking too long and to be honest it's too much like hard work in this heat.
