"Stay Thirsty my Friends"
So I am super stoked, today the UPS guy dropped off my brand new carb sync!
I also wanted to say sorry to everyone... I am on here almost every day, and I am enjoying all the bikes everyone is building and I have barely contributed at all with any of my builds. With work and family issues, I have had almost no time to build, let alone ride. I had big plans over the winter to build a new bike, a 80's muscle/fighter/cafe thing, but I never got past tear down... just too much shit in my life. But it did give me the opportunity to button up a few things on last winters project, so with that I give you the 98% Complete (I have to repaint the tank due to crappy hardener and gas damage) Dirty Canadian. I will throw up a show n' shine when I can get out and take a ride and snap some cool photos with my nice camera.
It was a full ground up resto down to every bolt and nut either being restored or replaced. In the last week I bought new pipes and wrapped them, also did some polishing, and a re-jet. The name "Dirty Canadian" comes from the fact that the VIN revealed that it was one of the first Seca 750 Imported to Canada and was used as a showroom model for Pacific Yamaha and BMW in Vancouver... It was one of the first bikes they ever bought when they opened their doors in 1983. I found it in a barn here in CA and bought it for $100, I wish I had pictures of it... it was a sorry state.
I have about 300 hrs into it where it stands (I am kinda slow and meticulous) and it is not totally done, but she is tuned and runs strong, I took it to the dyno last week after the new exhaust and jet. She is putting 72 HP to the rear wheel, and the guys think that she is making around 90hp at the crank (Custom JE pistons, and a couple top secret mods that I would have to kill you if I told you about. ;D) Anyway, total sleeper, super comfortable... eats cb750's for lunch, even with all the heavy sport touring stuff.
OK, so I am rambling, but I will say that this summer and into the winter I will be building another Seca (I have 3 ???, don't ask, I guess I am becoming a collector, well that and I love the way this engine looks!) that will be getting a much more aggressive stance and much more engine mods (Planing on making over 100hp at the crank ;D)
