"Stay Thirsty my Friends"
So I am super stoked, today the UPS guy dropped off my brand new carb sync!

I also wanted to say sorry to everyone... I am on here almost every day, and I am enjoying all the bikes everyone is building and I have barely contributed at all with any of my builds. With work and family issues, I have had almost no time to build, let alone ride. I had big plans over the winter to build a new bike, a 80's muscle/fighter/cafe thing, but I never got past tear down... just too much shit in my life. But it did give me the opportunity to button up a few things on last winters project, so with that I give you the 98% Complete (I have to repaint the tank due to crappy hardener and gas damage) Dirty Canadian. I will throw up a show n' shine when I can get out and take a ride and snap some cool photos with my nice camera.

It was a full ground up resto down to every bolt and nut either being restored or replaced. In the last week I bought new pipes and wrapped them, also did some polishing, and a re-jet. The name "Dirty Canadian" comes from the fact that the VIN revealed that it was one of the first Seca 750 Imported to Canada and was used as a showroom model for Pacific Yamaha and BMW in Vancouver... It was one of the first bikes they ever bought when they opened their doors in 1983. I found it in a barn here in CA and bought it for $100, I wish I had pictures of it... it was a sorry state.

I have about 300 hrs into it where it stands (I am kinda slow and meticulous) and it is not totally done, but she is tuned and runs strong, I took it to the dyno last week after the new exhaust and jet. She is putting 72 HP to the rear wheel, and the guys think that she is making around 90hp at the crank (Custom JE pistons, and a couple top secret mods that I would have to kill you if I told you about. ;D) Anyway, total sleeper, super comfortable... eats cb750's for lunch, even with all the heavy sport touring stuff.

OK, so I am rambling, but I will say that this summer and into the winter I will be building another Seca (I have 3 ???, don't ask, I guess I am becoming a collector, well that and I love the way this engine looks!) that will be getting a much more aggressive stance and much more engine mods (Planing on making over 100hp at the crank ;D)

I think you need a 'YICS stick' for that motor?
Does it have an large head Allen bolt on side of head where carbs connect? (I can't quite see whats on right side )
Good motors, not particularly fast but dead reliable

Yeah, I am actually in the process of making my own YICS tool... I am just awaiting a few parts to arrive.

Here is the instructions for those of you that have yamy 4cyl bikes

Yep... well sorta, They are bulletproof, and stock they made 82HP, but the 537lbs dry weight def slowed them down a bit.

with the custom forged pistons, and other mods, this thing screams... stoplight to stoplight it will hold its own with newer and lighter bikes, but the top end really dies off after 120 or so... after that it is a slow creep to 140. (I assume aerodynamics play a part in that)

cool/weird fairing, and it's my favorite color!

You'll have to let us know how much like those gauges, they look to be going for a lot less than the Davida one.

What can I say? Great find and great restore/rebuild!

Oh yeah, congrats on the carb sync too BTW!

I love White too! Yeah, I think the fairing is original, which is why I left it... I felt as though it needed to be saved. I originally had planned to go custom with the bike, but after getting the history I felt as though she deserved a second chance. Not that the world needs restored, 28 year old Seca's, but I felt kinda bad hacking into her.

I will let you guys know how the gauges work... they are a great deal for less than $70 shipped to my door brand new!

Beautiful bike and tool!!!

Can you just use 2 of those gauges if need be? or does it only work with 4 carbs hooked up?

No, each one operates independently, so it is good for all bikes, except CBX of course ;)

What about Z1300's?, Benelli 750/900 Sei's? :-X

The Sei's only had 3 carbs, and the KZ1300 used 3 dual throat carbs if memory serves correct so no problem there either ;D

See ya learn something new everyday!

Wow....that's a sharp little bike mate! You could park that in the living room!

Yeah swag... you should have seen it right after it was finished last year, If I had the space in my bedroom, it probably woulda ended up next to my bed, ;D Only bummer is my driveway is the DI granite, and while it looks good with the style of house, it gets a fine layer of rust colored dust over everything

Wow, hate I am late on this! Cool shit bro! I have been thinking of this direction, but it is too far away right now! Very nice!

Works fine on CBX 1000, I've used 4 gauge sets hundreds of times.
They have two banks of 3 carbs so you only really need 3 gauges for the 6 cylinders

Hmmm... thats funny are there six carbed versions? or a kit? I only ask cause there is a guy I ride with every blue moon that has a CBX with six carbs... he knows jack about his own bike (he is independently wealthy and just buys lots of toys.) I normally try not to associate with people like that, but he is actually a very talented rider... anyway his CBX is kinda custom so it could be a aftermarket thing.
