Looking for a different tank for my DOHC cb750c

anyone know if the sohc tanks will fit on the dohc cb750? i was trying to explore other tank options, but i didnt want to just buy a tank from a sohc cb750 and it not fit. i did a search first, and didn't find anything. :(
 
Yes they will. IIRC the 73 and up fit the DOHC frames, just good luck finding one in decent shape for less than your left kidney.
 
IIRC= if I recall correctly. Yes the standard tanks from 73/74 and up, I think, will fit. Same size and you lose that weird tail thing on the bottom of the dohc tanks.

i picked up a mint condish 79KZ tank for my 81 750F for $105 off ebay. shame i got anally raped for the shipping to Australia
 
does anyone know if these tanks will also fit the newer 1992 and up CB750's? I know the frame is different, just curious if it is possible. Have my eyes on a sweet 1995 cb750, but the standard tank is horrid, its like they got progressively worse over time. the 70's ones were the best, the 80's ones were ok and the 90's one are just plain shit.

i know of a guy that fitted a CX500 tank to a 90's CB, but they aren't really that nice either.

if a CX tank will fit the older CB's am i correct to assume that with some modification, the 70's CB tanks will work on the 90's CB's?
 
my question: will the 70's (not fussy which exact year) cb750 tank(s) fit the 90's cb750's.

modification and welding not really an issue, but will it work and more importantly has it been done?
 
@slategrey66 - did you have any luck with this ?? Did you eget a tank and get it fitted ?? did it fit ok ???

I also want to fit a SOHC tank to my DOHC (1983) frame !!!
