Looking for front forks for a new project - Honda Ascot VT500FT

Hi all,
Been some time since I posted but I am looking local for some front forks for my Honda VT500FT project. Full story here:

I want to keep the front wheel but I want to replace the stock forks (as you can see in the pic....too long and offset axle). Preferably would like to replace the whole front end, forks & trees. I'm going for conventional forks with clip-ons. Would love to hear from anyone local to the Raleigh area who might have something that would work. By the way, the steering stem on this bike appears to be longer than most (see pics).

Honda Hurricane 1990 CBR600 forks fitted. Same diameter as stock so keeping existing triple clamps. Stance much better now.
