Here are the nominees! Let me know if I've messed anything up!

Nominees: post up your stories / pics / bribes. Convince us to vote for your bike!

I guess I will start the shameless plugging.
Started off with a non running, no title 1974 cb550
Had an idea of where I wanted to go with it, so I tore it down and started cutting the frame and making a new backhalf with new swingarm. To save some time, here is a list of the goodies.
-Custom frame with rear set mounts and all electronics under tail.
-Gsxr forks with did rims front and back
-home made rear sets
-home made tank and seat
-rebuilt engine with self done porting and polishin, and a cb650 cam
-yoshi exhaust

heres some pics of the build process

Rawfish, thanks man. Sure you can compete, you have a great looking bike! Someday Im hoping to have one similar to yours with the high pipes...Love em'!

(Did I post too many pics in the voting section? Let me know if I should remove them)

Allow me to start off by first saying this is the best bike forum going!!!!
There are soooooo many cool builds out there, to be nominated is really a honor.
This bike started out as stock 73 XT650, according to the owner he started to adjust the carbs and never finished that was 30 years ago. . So with that said I was looking at a complete tear down and rebuild, everything that needed replaced was, everything that needed fixed was, everything that needed painted was. . . which was everything !!!
Being a full time student holding down a full time job only (Oh and a girlfriend) leaves the weekends and few hours, Its hard to believe that I brought this bike home two years ago and I still haven't heard it run. . . but I'm so close, I just keep telling myself. . just a few more hours !!!

Everyone's positive comments have been great. . and again whoever gets the "Bike of the Month" will deserve it, all the nominee's are worthy !!!

Remember Nominees - post up your build stories/pics etc. HERE so people can review them and vote for your bike!

Come on guys! Bribe me with alcohol, impress me with your build stories, sway me with a sympathy kick! I am having a real hard time deciding my vote! I need some persuasion!

Spill it! I know you all put soul in building these machines, so tell us all why your horse deserves the prize! I cant wait to hear!

That sounds familiar. I didn't know that she wasn't running....no wonder I couldn't find that riding video!

I'll vote for yours when it is running. No offense, I just think the banner bike should be able to tow a banner so to speak. That's just my thoughts on the subject. Beautiful build though man. Looks great!

i agree with you it should run, i was hessatent to accept the nomination because its not finished. i didnt want to insult the guys that nominated me. but i have a surprise for you guys tonight i have to go to class. so will post a video up later.

ps it sucks being a full time student and having a full time job at the young age of 21, while trying to build motorcycles.

+1 vote for Squirley's Project Vaseline

Great vision & flawless execution. I love the 4 into 1 exhaust!

shes alive, i know it needs a little loving but we will get there by the weekend.

thanks man that was probably the 7th time ever starting her i was very happy. i can't decide if i like the sound of yours or mine better they both are great sounding bikes.

Again, thank you guys for being nominated! That's awsome to be picked out, out of so many well build bikes. Well, what else can I say that already hasn't been said in my build thread......
First, I gotta thank the wifey for getting me the bike for Christmas. Like most bikes here my CL started off non running and in boxes. Also, it was my first bike build. Coming from a car restorer it wasn't easy as I thought. As some of you guys remember this bike didn't look the way it does now. This is a never ending project (hobby).

Most of all this is what it's all about. Hanging in the garage with my son...Gotta start them young 8).
