BUILT NOT BOUGHT!
Here it is - your opportunity to get your favorite bike up on our banner!

The drill, for those of you unfamiliar with the process:

1. Nominate your favorite bike which hasn't WON the BOTM contest before (prior nominees are welcomed a second time, but maybe skip back a few months)

2. Someone else seconds the bike

3. The bike owner accepts the nomination and agrees to participate

No joke nominations - be honest about it. That being said there are NO RESTRICTIONS on what bike you nominate. Only rule is it should be represented on DO THE TON in a thread somewhere posted up by the owner with details on the bike.

The nomination MUST MUST MUST include the builder's DO THE TON username, a link to the thread detailing the bike, and at least 1 picture of the bike.

There we go - simple rules - go forth and nominate.

I would like to nominate Slice.

I want to nominate Woosey's Yamaha XS750. I know he is new to the forum and didn't do a build thread here, but I love his bike. He did most if not all the work himself and the bike turned out beautiful. I for one would love to see it grace the banner for a month. I especially love the throwback racing paint theme, along with that classic fairing. Great Job Brother, and welcome to the sickness!

I will second Woosey's. That is sweet. such an of the wall bike too. Good job. Even if he didn't post the build, I am sure he is willing to post up what he has and fill us in. Just because we didnt see it happen doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I'll. Second bradwsm's bikethat thong is sweet!

Brad, I did not know you were lobbying for a nomination by wearing a thong!!!!!......I am also glad I did not know, and PLEASE do NOT post those pics!

Sonreir & mothgils,

Thanks for the nominations but I think once is enough for me!
I (with all due respect) will pass on being nominated again.
Best of luck to the new nominees this month...
Looking forward to seeing what kind of line up is produced!

-Slice

Well said Slice and much respect. To me it doesn't make sense to have a BOTM contest if the same bikes keep running until they win...

Exceptions are for the builds that have a second transformation.

I absolutely agree... Takes the fun out of the game!
As much as I appreciate the nominations, its not really what its all about in the end.
There are plenty of bikes here to pick from each month... Variety is always nice.

Slice,

If DTT ends up selling a BOTM calendar and your bike isn't in it I will be quite displeased. :'(

I humbly accept!

I am glad I saw this post twisted because it was about to get a little wierd!

As much as I like that 750...brads little scoot is just too damn cool. I bet that thing is a blast to flick around.

No worries man, much respect for declining though. I think that bike is very BOTM-worthy. Far from "bush league" in my book. I can't wait to see what's up your sleeve for your next build.

Sonreir - Haha, I will make sure I print a pic for you to tape over another bike in the calendar! Ta Da... Aint nothing a bit of glue cant fix.

Moth - Thanks for understanding pal!

Hello DTT comunity.. I appreciate and accept the nomination.. good thing i logged on.. its been a while because ive been so busy plowin snow and fixing snow blowers

stupid question time.
i know the rules say any bike can be nominated.
so i guess that answers itself.
but in theory, should these machines, especially the winner, be actually cafe bikes that will do the ton?
is a custom bobber with turned down bars a cafe?

thank you in advance.

It's "Bike of the month". Not "Cafe inspired replica capable of doing the Ton of the month".

Trackers, fighters, hardtails, etc all qualify.

I agree that any bike should be applicable for Bike of the Month... if you'd prefer to see a cafe, there are usually plenty to cast your vote for. That's what voting is all about. That said, I've gotta second, or third, or fourth, bradwsm's little racer. It is easily one of the coolest little bike's I've seen, and I think I can use it to finally get my girlfriend to give up on mopeds and get a little bike.
