member stator rewind?

Was wondering if any of the members on here have experience rewinding stators and would be willing to take mine on. I've got a 1980 CB400T would like a bit more amperage which if I'm thinking correctly would mean larger wire with less turns? wouldn't mind doing mine if I could get enough help and info on here. I don't like undertaking large projects without all my ducks in a row.

The size of the wire doesn't matter, it's the length. Usually this means going with the same thickness of wire and trying to pack the turns in tighter, or going with smaller wire and risking cooking it when you generate too much power.
 
i sent mine out to a guy who does rewinds in the US came back brand new and he fixed a couple other things I definitely recommend him I think his info is somewhere in my build within the first few pages
 
I'd love to send it to the US to get fixed or even somewhere in Adelaide but the exchange rate and postage return to the US isn't worth it

Google turns up multiple automotive electrical shops in Adelaide... Give one of them a call. Should be able to help.

I contacted a place I know and they won't work on the CB400.

Might be time to forge your own path.
 
Like anything we do,
Take your time
Make sure it goes back together the way it came apart
Don't cut corners
It'll be swell
