MGD's 1975 CB360T

Welcome aboard! There are more of us on here, some in Brookfield, Tosa, others a little more north.

I'm heading to Road America this Saturday for the Vintage Races.

I don't think I''ll have my 360 finished by this weekend, so I'll be on my Hawk.

Still working on the bike, but my career is getting in the way.

I'm working odd hours over at Harley Davidson, so bike progress is slow.

Here's what good old H-D likes to spend their money on. A steal wall of buzz words on the executive level.

I guess sarcasm didn't come across as well as expected ;)
Probably right saying steal instead of steel 8)

Be nice you guys... LOVE my touring Harley... All bikes are awesome.

Correction: all USED bikes are awesome.

HD's retail prices are off the map.

Don't get me wrong, I will love a Harley like it was my very own Honda.

I just don't want to pay for it.

Oh, PJ, I'm always sarcastic, and a terrible speller.

On a serious note; If I am using a Kohler Reg/Rec, I only need to connect middle prong of the unit to +12 VDC, not the red wire in the engine harness?

With constant 12v on the engine harness RED wire and on the reg-rec I have current draw.

Should I have one of the AC voltage wires (YEL or WHT) "open" when ignition is off, between the engine harness and the reg-rec?

Yellow, white, and pink should show no voltage unless the engine is running. Voltage on any of those three with the engine off indicates a bad rectifier.

the regulator portion could have a fault too. A bad SCR or Zener Diode could cause a draw.....Hard to know on those combo units.

Ok, YEL and WHT I know are at the engine. PINK? I'm not so sure where that is.
I don't see a WHT from the engine on this diagram, am I correct?
and is the GRN wire at the stator the nuetral switch wire, or a ground needed?

Yellow and white are each partial charging circuits (2/3 and 1/3, respectively). Pink is the full deal.

The white and the yellow should be spliced together and be connected to one of the outside poles of the R/R. The pink goes onto the other.

For a 360, there should be no green wire from the stator, just a green/red wire, and it's for the neutral light on your dash.

Also... In this picture, most of the wiring colors are wrong for other circuits, so you may want to find another diagram if you need it for something besides the charging circuit.

Thanks Matt. WHT and YEL are not tied together at the moment. That could be my problem right there.

I have some work to do tonight.

Flipped the wiring around, and she fired on the third kick.

I still need to adjust the valves, and possibly the timing.

I started to mess with the mixture adjustment, but I then realized that it was running itself out of gas.

I never wanted to fill the tank, as it has been on and off the bike quite routinely as of late.

Plugs and a seat cover, and I may ride this thing soon.
