do you have to do any work to the engine? I came across this info because I need to do this to my wife's bike but the sr250 shares the same piston as the xs650. Same part numbers. I have had a hard time finding sr250 pistons up here in Canada and when I do they tend to be pricey, but they are pretty cheap and plentiful through Mikes xs.

What's the colour scheme you're going to go with. And the tail section looks great. it's not an easy frame to build off of.

thasnx for the heads up :) fortunetly the motor is tight and has only don 30.000 kms or 18.600miles
i wasnt going to say but seeing you ask it will be red frame silver tank and seat cowl

I want to try get 1 update up per week weather its little or a lot. I may not get a chance to do any thing after this post till after the new year

This week i started cleaning up the frame I have cut of and removed all brackets and parts i dont need and ground of any welding slag and imperfections

Damn thing looks like a sculpture. At least the hard bit is behind you, well as far as the frame is concerned at any rate. Keep at it man, that thing is gonna be insane in red.

Hi, know iv only just joined by thought id just mention, when i chopped my sr250 and got to stripping paint I noticed the swingarm had some excessive rust which, with the tap of my hammer fell thru. Could just be the british weather but might be worth a look see.
:)

thanx guys.. I striped the swing arm today and it is rust free. i think it might be the salt you guy throw on the road to melt the snow that would have killed yours.

As in a fiberglass mold to use instead of using what's actually on the bike, or a fiberglass mold so that you can make copies of the design for use on other bikes? What material is the tail made out of at the moment?
