Mid-Ohio AMA Vintage Weekend Jul 10-12, 2015

I will probably make it...cpl hr drive for me so not too bad..I didnt get to watch enough racing last year so that will be my main priority this year..I spent WAY too many hrs walking through the swap meet last year....

Last time a group of us was at Mid-O, we all planned to meet up but nobody had anyone's numbers. So if y'all want to send me your names and numbers, maybe I can get a group text going so we can all hang out some.

Jenn

I sadly will not be attending this year, can't miss my son's B-day but this puts Barber a lot closer to reality and Jill and William may make it there with me this year again.

Bummed you're missing Mid-O, Mike. But I'm stoked that you might make Barber. I really hope it works out for you to bring Jill and William too. I've been wanting to meet them, it's time for it to happen! :D

Yep I wanted to get to Mid-O to see Scott, Brad, Dock etc, as they never seem to get to Barber, but Jill and I discussed and we may have the funds to Fly this year and make Barber, I just have to watch for seat sales. If not we will drive and maybe pull bikes. we'll see. I am hoping to make maybe the Steel City M&R to see the crew that goes to Mid-O as it is right around my B-Day. we'll see but Barber I get to see you and E and the Bama crew. It will hopefully all work out good.

Cheers

I'm definitely in, as this is a can't miss event for Reda & I every year. My bud Andy is getting us a campsite in the tent camping area, hoped to get some friends & acquaintances in adjacent sites. Andy's Dad is a season ticketholder, so he's allowed to set up camp (he's in the RV area) Thursday @5pm+ and was going to try & get us a good spot reserved & marked that night in the tent camping area.

We'll be on '77 Suzuki GS's w/leather saddlebags, flat black lowered GS550B rat bike with aluminum side panel and smaller seat, s.s. mini gauges. Black/gold GS750B w/V&H 4-1/ cbr900rr rotors, aluminum gs1100e swingarm, vintage fox piggybacks... Andy - Silver Toyota 4Runner pulling red enclosed bike trailer with ratty new project 1978 GS750C (color to be determined, probably my green tank that the deer left a 57mph impression of my left knee in!) and green/white DR350 Dual Sport. Look out for us. Our T-Mobile phones barely ever work there. David Drey6 will know where to find us.

Im trying to decipher the details on their rules. To buy a camping pass, you must buy at least one weekend pass. 3 tents or camper units/structures allowed per 40x25 site. 1 car pass allowed per site, additional cars must park in lot.

So does one purchase a camping pass for the site & cram 3 tents worth of people in, or is it 1 camping pass purchased per tent/RV/camping structure unit & can either get your own site or cram 3 tents worth of buddies onto 1 site???

I will be there with some variation of our riding crew ( 6-8 of us total ). Arriving mid day Fri and camping on-site.
From last year's event...

I've always just bought my pass at the gate and camping pass at the entrance to the campgrounds...the 40x25 spot sounds like RV spots. The tent spots are 10x10 and supposed to be 1 tent per spot. We just look for enough open spots that we are all "blocked" in together.

beatnic....
I'm slumming it this year, no more "RV Park", I'm going over friday Thursday evening.
Pretty sure I have your number... I'll be camping in my white van.

^ +1 any clarification on this?
I just called them to clarify. They said each person purchases their event pass (weekend pass is $60 per person) then a camping pass is additional.
A 25×40 tent camp site for the weekend is $60. The lady I spoke to (Joyce) said one vehicle per tent camp site but they have other parking away from the sites. She said you can put as many people on the camp site as you can fit, though the site itself says only 3 tents are permitted.
A 25×40 RV camp site for the weekend is $125. One camper/RV is required and two tents are allowed.

I meant to call them myself but have been busy. Much appreciated.

Tent camping regulations are as follows:

*A weekend ticket must be purchased with a camping pass, as a weekend ticket or VIP Race Pass is required for entrance into the campgrounds during an event.
*There are defined and appropriately numbered camping spaces measuring 1000 square feet, approximately 40x25.
*Three camping units (tent or camper) are allowed in each tent camping space. (If your camping unit or set-up is larger than the camping space size, you will be required to purchase an additional tent camping space.)
*All camping units and personal automobiles within a designated camping space must be at least 5 feet apart.
*One personal automobile pass will be issued per tent camping pass purchased. *Personal automobiles are not allowed along the fence line. Additional automobile parking will be restricted to the east spectator parking area. In order to limit traffic and remain in compliance, we recommend that you come and go on foot as much as possible and utilize our shuttle system to move about the facility. Please utilize your personal automobile only to leave or re-enter Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
*Each tent camping unit and corresponding automobile must display the appropriate pass at all times. No automobiles will be permitted into the campground area without the appropriate pass.
*A Family Camping area has been set aside in the front section of the tent campground.
*All tent camping spaces will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis[/quote]

Awesome, thanks for calling them to clarify. I took note that "ONLY ONE AUTOMOBILE" is allowed per site... I assume that being a motorcycle event, they won't bother us for having multiple motorcycles and 1 automobile per site?

My buddy Andy and his dad's crew always got tent sites & parked small travel trailers on them, and the sites were rather large and not filled to capacity. His Dad & crew are setting up in the RV area this year, but are going to reserve myself&Andy & a few others a primo somewhat secluded camping spot by the tree line Thursday night. I'll be around either Friday lunch time (scenic detour through the Walhonding/Mohican scenic river/wilderness area) or late afternoon if I ride up with the Rice Paddy (vintage salvage shop here) crew.

Look for Andy's red enclosed bike trailer attached to a silver Toyota 4Runner, DR350 Suzuki dual sport & a ratty 78 gs750 that were building from wreckage this week.I'll be on a black 77 gs750. By all means, feel free to set up in an adjacent spot to us so we can have good company in the immediate vicinity and maybe even save on firewood by having one big fire per night

Also if anyone is riding to the event from south or east of Ohio, hit me up with your approximate route direction and I can suggest some awesome routes through southeast Ohio that may be on the scenic detour way for you.
