Mid-Ohio AMA Vintage Weekend Jul 10-12, 2015

Well, sad to say...

... I'm 'out'. :p

Work commitments are making this year's trip impossible. :'(

Have fun, take pics and be safe. 8)

I think Andy will be up Thurs 4pm unless the forecast gets worse (rain now thru thurs early eve currently) - look for his silver Toyota 4Runner pulling a red enclosed trailer with a Suzuki DR350 dual sport & a green 78 Suzuki GS750 project bike that we're still wrenching on trying to build out of 2 parts bikes. Camp near us if you wish, maybe we can have a joint bonfire or 2.

I'll probably be wrenching on Andy's GS in my downtime over the weekend while camping, but hitting the swap shortly after our scenic twisty detour Mt Vernon-Walhonding-Mohican River Wilderness area on the way there Friday AM.

I'll be on a black & gold 77 Suzuki GS750 with buncha mods & red/black Fox Factory Shox piggybacks, David on an '86 Ninja for now. Saturday AM, +3 more.

I'll be there with WERA from Thurs. to Tues. Either in the tech center or at pit out.

An Ohio member of The GS Resources forums and VJMC volunteer has informed me that at one of the two VJMC club tents, they are having something called "Sounds of Japanese Horsepower" I believe Saturday at 330pm, then a BBQ after (5pm). Sounds promising.

I'm trying to keep track of names and numbers for this weekend, but I've gotten quite a few so if you've messaged me your info to meet up, drop me a line and I'll send my cell #. Might be easier that way :)

Drinking beer and walking the swap meet tomorrow early afternoon. Let's say 11, for now... Look for this ironic mess.

Found the coolant pipe to the back of the top end rusted/eroded through 1 hour before departure for our 3 hour scenic/twisty route. Wasn't much left to clamp to.

Oh, and thanks to Chuck78 for his trusty, "Net of Reassurance".

I am giving a friend a hand.
Got some CB750 stuff in a booth.
Lots of nice body work and a killer project with some cool vintage parts on it.
All will be sold and prices are cheap.

sorry ridesolo and i never got to meet up with ya, did get to meet bradj and justinlonghorn. Glad we had nice weather saturday at least!

Hope to catch up with you and Mr.E next year!

Good to meet those of you that I had the opportunity to. I'm really really planning on making the Thaw next year for sure, and may get a chance to ride or meet more of you sooner. Sorry Jen (&E) that I didn't get a chance to hang around much & socialize (& anyone else who was at Beatnic/Greg's/etc campfire when I popped in for a few minutes looking for Beatnic (my fellow GS750 hoarder bud). The weekend was jam packed with nonstop action from all directions...

Bummer about the rain Sunday, everything shut down asap but the wall of death did run several shows, & that was GREAT as always. Saturday was my most memorable trip to Vintage Days yet. The extended ride David & I took (rode 1 hour east from Columbus, out of the way, to set us up for a trip to VMD through the edges of the Appalachian hills region of Ohio) took us on some good and great twisty roads to make Friday real special, too.

got 2 friends set up on their first bikes, kz550 cafe racer project with Ikon 7610 shocks & Kerker 4:1 ($1000! needs wiring attention, Dynojet kit, & cafe seat job was pretty crap), other friend on a 71 CB350 twin almost all original only needs new clutch cable & front brake cable, runs GREAT sounds GREAT ($1100).

Can't wait for next year!
