Mikuni 2-1 Throttle cable help?

Fox

I've still got those patches...
Howdy Gents,

Ran into some issues when installing my 2-1 throttle cable from DCC on the Mikuni VM30s my '75 CL360 has.

I'm basically done. It's all installed and soldered together, but I cant get the actual throttle to turn in my hand. It feels like its jammed, or stuck somewhere. If I turn it too hard it yanks out the retaining screw that came with the kit. The cable has great freeplay in the carbs, they pull real nice and easy. The throttle grip turned real smooth and pulled the carbs like nothing was wrong and then I soldered it down and it all went to shit. Tried to retrace all my steps, but I'm not sure what I'm missing here. Anyone got experience with this? Am I missing something simple?

There's two connection locations on the handlebar. Did you hook it up to the correct one? One pulls while the other pushes.

i ran into this same problem with my mikunis. i switched to a single pull throttle from motion pro and mine works like butter now.

Yeah, It's definitely hooked up to the pull side.

I'll look into getting a single pull throttle. Anyone got a solution in the meantime. I'd post pictures, but you really need to see a video to understand the problem, so I'll see if I can put one together tonight. Till then, feel free to throw out any thoguhts.
Thanks in advance.

I have a motion pro 2-1 cable on my 360. I don't remember the part number, but I had to modify the stock throttle tube to make it work. Its tough to describe what I did, and I don't have any pics. I basically used one of the mounting points on the stock tube and cut the other off. I also had to cut a channel through the mounting point for the cable to ride since I was mounting the cable the opposite direction from how it was originally.

Hopefully that makes sense

Just to close out the thread,

I don't know what exactly I did, but the throttle cable is pulling now. Certainly isn't as smooth as I would have hoped, but hey, give and take right? Just working on getting the cables trimmed to the right length now. Thanks for all the posts.
