Mikuni VM30 Group Buy

OK ladies and gents,

So I've recently made a contact in the world of motorcycle carburetors and I'm able to get some VM30s on the cheap. I have to buy in bulk to make it worth it though and so I figured I'd extend the deal to you fine folks and hopefully get a little something for my own time and effort.

Without further ado, I will be selling VM30s at $150 per pair. I'll be covering the costs of shipping out of the price charged. Limit is two pair per person. Your application may require new throttle cables, carb boots, and/or jets (all of which I won't be supplying at this time). Initial setup of the carbs is as follows:

pilot jet - 40
main jet - 250
needle - 6F5
slide - 2.5
Airjet - 2.0
needle - 159 P-5

I'll need to sell at least six pairs of carbs in order to get this price, so please post here if interested. We can still proceed if we don't hit six, but price will be slightly increased. Also, this deal only last for the next seven days, so all orders need to be posted here BEFORE Feb 7th. There's only ten pair available at the moment, but if this proves to be popular I can do it again in another couple of months.

Finally, I know most of you guys don't know me from Adam so in order to keep things above board and transparent, I'd like everything to be handled in this thread and without any private messages shooting around. This way, we all know what's going on. With that in mind, please post when you've sent the money (Paypal and money orders are both fine, PM me for my email or home address). I will respond to this thread when I've received money, again when the order has been placed with the supplier, and again when the carbs ship out to each of you.

Thanks,
Sonny aka Matt

Also... I forgot to mention. I'm expecting to have these to your door around Feb 20th give or take a few days. I need to wait for shipping from the supplier to me and then I need to ship from me to you guys.

i think i might spark some intrest, though i wish i knew what setup i would need on my stock CL350 for jet sizes..

For the 350, a good start place is a 25 pilot with 200 main. The 6F4 needle should do and the 2.0 air jet seems to be a common pick as well.

Hey, I'm interested in getting a pair myself. Is the 30mm or 32mm the best size for a cl360? I'm starting a build but lack some direct knowledge about these bikes since I've never been around them before. Thanks.

Hey tprader,

You're gonna want 30mm. I just bought some off Dime City Cycles and called in to ask that same question. The guy said definitely 30's. 32 would be way to big. Take advantage of this deal, this is the cheapest you'll find them anywhere. I wish I could but by the time it was up, mine had already shipped, so I would have had to drop more money just to return them. Wouldn't have actually saved any money.

Just a side note. Dime City is an awesome place for parts. They have a specific section of parts(Brakes, engine, electrical, etc...) that fit CL360s. They guys at the shop are pretty cool. If you have questions, you can always call in and ask. Just don't abuse the privilege.

The 30s should work for your application, though I'm told the 28s are even better for the 350/360 engine. With the 30s you have a bit of room to grow if you want to trick out the motor at some point in the future.

I am interested in a set for my cb360.

And also, where would be a good place to start with jetting running stock filters on my bike? Same as the CL350 mentioned above? I may be putting Uni filters on soon as well.

The VM30s are a good fit for the CB450 and the KZ400. They seem to work best in the 400-450 cc range of bikes but I've known folks to run them on 350s and 500s as well.

eXcelon, I'm afraid shipping to Canada will be slightly more. Total price for Canada would come to $165 USD.

Excellent, then count me in guys. I am curious about the jetting as well. Oh, do any of you know where a good place to find 1 or 2 mm overbore pistons is for a 360? I've got a major build on the way that I need to start a build thread for.
Thanks again.

Up to 1.0mm over can come from the factory and can often be found on eBay. Also, I think Suzuki GS850 pistons are a straight swap for +2mm? I can't remember 100% though. Check out crazypj's build thread I'm pretty sure he lists it there. Of course, you can always go with custom made pistons. I got my +2mm overs from Arias for just over $400. You can probably get them cheaper now that they've already got the specs for a 360.

Good deal. For those of you marked down as interested, please PM me for payment details. I'll need payment on or before the 7th.
