Mikuni VM30 Group Buy

OK.. kinda bad news. My supplier has sold out all except for a single pair of the VM30s. These will be getting shipped to AzHonda as he was the first to send payment. My supplier is currently checking directly with Mikuni to see when more will be available and I expect to have an ETA on those in the next few days. I understand if you guys don't want to wait and so I'm happy to refund any money. Please let me know.

Do you know approximately how long (just a ball park), days, weeks? Thanks

Waiting for an exact confirmation, but it was implied that it would be a week or two on backorder. This puts final delivery closer to the end of February or beginning of March. I will definitely make sure to post more info as soon as I get it.

Well... sometimes things work out. I just got an email from the supplier and one of his other customers that had ordered 16 of these things asked to have his order placed on hold. Knowing that I needed 12, my supplier checked with his other customer to make sure it was OK to release them to me and have this other guy's order filled with the next expected shipment. The guy said, "That's fine.", so we're back on track. The carbs should be at my place sometime late next week or the week after. I'll give you guys a tracking number when I have that info.

Carbs are shipped from the supplier and on the way to my place. They should arrive to me on Tuesday and I'll mail them out Priority Mail on Wednesday. Most of you should receive them Saturday with possible arrivals on Monday. eXcelon, no idea on how long it will take to get to Canada, but I'm hoping Priority Mail will make it quickly there, too.

Thanks for the update Sonreir...Priority Mail coming from the west coast about week or so isn't that bad.

The 30s should work for your application, though I'm told the 28s are even better for the 350/360 engine. With the 30s you have a bit of room to grow if you want to trick out the motor at some point in the future.

Hey Sonreir - I have a '73 CB350G and am way interested in a pair! I was looking at getting the Mikuni VM32 from Lossa Engineering. They have them listed for CB/CL 350's. http://www.lossaengineering.com/shop/mikuni-vm32-carb-kit/

Is that not right? Let me know if I can still get onboard. Thanks!

I have a spare set (I ordered a set for myself, but have gotten my stock Keihins to work in the mean time) that can be yours for $150. PM me for paypal details.

Also... don't put VM32s on a stock 350. It may work, but you're gonna give yourself an aneurysm during the tuning process.

Carbs have arrived. They go out in the mail tomorrow.

Will a VM30 be too big for a CB125 (big valve head, high compression)? Stock is a 24mm and some fit a 26mm xr200 carb. The big valve head has a 30mm intake valve and port is about 28mm. I may port the intake out to 30mm along with the intake manifold, which I believe is also 28mm. I plan a free flowing megaphone of some sort and a pod filter.

How much for a single VM30?

You're welcome to one at $85 (shipped), but I would think a VM30 would be way too big for a 125. I've been told the ideal range for a VM30 is around 200cc (per cylinder) give or take 25cc. You can get it running outside that range, but it starts getting tricky.

Ok, I'll take that as a no. I don't want to over carb. I don't need top speed. I'd rather have better throttle response. Thanks anyway. Good price though!
