Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid/ Christine: CASE BACK OPEN...

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...ONE pic of the roller

Wow, first of all those LED's are sweet.
Second, the bike looks freakin' awesome even though "it's not done by a long shot".

This build has me thinkin I want to do a streetfighter if I ever get around to finishing my cafe! Keep up the awesome work!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...ONE pic of the roller

So I am a little embarrassed about the quality of the last photo I posted up. I got the whole day to work on Kool-Aid yesterday, and so I rolled it outside a little bit ago and took some more photos that actually reflect some of what I have been doing. It is really dirty, and has a long way to go, but you can start to see a little of the direction. Enjoy!

Turns out that polished magnesium shines up better than alum. and with speed holes is faster, too!

Anyway, I am at least starting to realize some of the fruits of my labor. I have some tasty bits en route (secret stuff 8) ). My main focus is now moving to the front, where I want to move my gauge back to front and center, and cabbage the wiring harness to clean things up up there. (I know I said up up). And of course a whole lot more polishing.................oh, and it appears tighten up the one loose taillight LED ::)

Thanks for looking!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Thanks, man!

Oh, and just to clarify, that is one of Sean's seat bases. I highly recommend.

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Awesome! I just got (has been waiting form me) the replacement radiator for the bunged up one on the LH side. I already replaced the RH one, so this will further remove the damage of the original wreck. I got this one for a steal on E-bay, so I am stoked. If only my other parts would get here as quickly...

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Sick dude! I'm loving this new look. The minimalist tail/subframe is the shit.

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

I have to ask you guys this question.

After showing this project to several local peoplefirsthand, a burgeoning number really does not understand the seat/ rear portion of the bike. I am going to see this one throught since I still believe in my original plan, but is it really that bad??

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Yeah man, I haven't received one compliment/question about my bike here in MT. I couldn't stop for gas ANYWHERE in CA/OR without someone wanting to know more about the bike...on a couple occasions I was asked to pose with the bike for a pic by another rider!

People don't get it up here. Coming from CA, it's very noticeable. I wouldn't sweat it.

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Thanks man. It seems like this area is mostly a Harley culture, and people just don't get why you would intentionally make a bike that you can't ride 600 miles without stopping, that doesn't necessarily have seat pad, low bars, etc, etc. It gets kind of discouraging really. Oh well, I guess I don't do it for them, though :)

On a brighter note, I got my gauge relocated tonight, and I got the muffler stay actually mounted instead of just propped in for the pictures. Gonna tackle the wiring and such later in the week.

When are you back in Boz?

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

man that tail looks trick dig how yyou set up your led's back there!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

damn those radiators are ugly.

Could you consolidate into one radiator?

Are you planning on modifying the tank at all? It'd look cool with similar flat sided shape as the tail.

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

see i like those! when i built my street fighter i was going to put them on... you can always paint them as well or polish them so they flow a bit better but i love the look of those meaty radiators on the sides

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

The radiators have been as hot a topic as the unpadded seat! I was originally looking to relocate one under the seat with two fans, but I kind of came to the point that Joe is describing, and I kind of like them where they are at. It helps a little with functionality, with the extra capacity as well. I am going to polish them, which I think will tie them too the bike a little better. The tank will probably remain as is for awhile, but it would look cool with an alloy angular tank, I agree.

Joe, thanks for the props on the seat and lights. The lights are so far my favorite element!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

you want some padding? i think i hve some 1/2 in neoprene in the shop somewhere, i can send that back with the DVD

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Got back on Sunday, Tyler. Leaving again in a couple weeks though. ::)

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Joe,
That would be awesome! Let me know how much and we can get it done. 1/2 inch is about what I had in mind.

Chris,
I wanna come check out your man cave in person. That place looks rad! I will try to give you a call sometime soon!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!

Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid"...lots o' pics of the RADNESS!!
