Mono-shock tx/xs 650

Hello Crazypj,

Following a few concerns regarding the clearance issues with the under can, I had my brother and dad sit on the bike (about 400lbs worth) and it bottomed out with approx. 3" to clear. close I know but I don't see this thing jumping rail road tracks at 100 mph anytime soon. As much time I have put onto this build I'll be babying it. . .

Thanks again for the comments . . . this forum is the best. We all benefit from others dealing with issues that they have expereniced.

Thanks

WOW ! is all I can say ! This build is awsome. Great attention to detail, awsome lines, and the sound just tops it off. I love that low grumble. Is that an undertail slip-on you mounted under there?

And yes you are right this site is the best ! I haven't been around long but this site is to blame for the mess in my garage. Thanks for the insparation.

.....hummmm hydro clutch eh ?

Well fellow DTT's this build is complete . . . Its been fun putting new life into a old dog.

Thanks for all the encouragement, advice, ideas and most of all the praise.

That bike is just right, I dig the whole package.

Just so you know, I'm nominating your bike again for the May BOTM.

thanks, asshole. i just took a shower, and now im going to have to take another one.

god that thing is sexy. it begs to be driven over those tracks at 100mph. if you wont do it, i will. ;D ;D

Looks great. You did a great job. So did you have any clearance issues with the exhaust? Keep it up can't wait to see what you come up with next.

very tastefully done, i like it.

i can finally see an underbody muffler too, i haven't had many underslung cans to use to visualise my own

Very nice job, it is perfection! Every thing fits together as it were meant to be! You built an impeccable machine and it is beautiful! Looks like it will be just as much fun to ride as it is to look at! Very inspirational brother!

I want to ride this bike so fucking bad! I can only imagine the looks you get while cruising that machine! Even bike guys in the know are like WTF? I love what you did! It is bitchin!

I missed this thread as you were building but I'm glad to catch it now! Really nice execution of your unique vision. Looks like it just rolled out of the show room.

hi, i would have to say at 21yrs old if you did all the metal work, fiberglass, engine, paint, etc yourself you are very talented young man. very good job, joe@vcycle

this is one of the best bikes i've seen in a long time... got my vote for bike of the month. my wife doesn't like cafe's at all. i showed her yours and she said, "now that one's not bad". not a glowing review, but it wasn't the look of disgust that she normally has when she looks at a cafe. ;D

i really dig the exhaust. i have a cx500 and i really want to do something different with the exhaust. i've thought about going undertail (pretty much my favorite type of moto exhaust) but i think i'd pretty much have to go straight pipe if i did that. in the last few days i've been thinking of beull's and their cans under the engine and wondering if it'd work. then i see yours and it looks great. guess i'll just have to see how much clearance i have. what sorta can is that? got some dimensions and price tag for that can? oh, and how loud is it?

thanks.

Hey, Glad you and your wife both enjoyed the style of the bike, I had a Buell and that was the influence behind this design, I bought a White Brothers muffler (off eBay) and cut in half riveted the end plate back on and reassembled it, had to fab the 2 into 1 collector and make plates to match that was welded to pipes.. . and a little polishing.

The sound is low smooth rumble . . I plan on posting a video just to let it loose.
