MOTO GP

well for rossi's sake i dont believe its age, more so the fact his bike is just obsolete. making a chassis change mid season... WHAT! honda made huge steps in the off season and even yamaha tweaked the champion winning bike. ducati, with their poor performance last year, still hasnt got the bugs out. BUT with hayden and rossi to my knowledge both agreeing to come back already im hard pressed to say they have something up there sleeves. as for simo... i dont think he is going to get the chance to shine. if he hasnt found the maturity yet i dont think he will. not with media superstars like Mark Marquez shining in moto2 already set to come to GP. i give marco another season and if something doesnt click i bet anything he is replaced without hesitation. he is like the dennis rodman of GP, great and exciting, but eventually the big boys up stairs get tired of defending their star.

Simoncelli is fast. He's topped the time sheets in qualifying quite regularly. That's the hardest box ticked (you either have fast or you don't - yes you can learn to be faster, but if you're slow, you can't "learn" fast).

He just needs to get consistent over a race distance and he will get on the podium.

Marquez, Iannone, Vinhales, et al are all pretty good and they will no doubt shake up the MotoGP grid next year.

probably one of the better gp races ive seen lately today. its such a great track for position changes. good to see a different honda hit the top as well and jorge may just keep this season interesting after all.

so luguna seca isnt over but these american commentators are killing me. wish they would have stuck to the world call. that country dude cant get a solid idea out to save his life. idiots.

I'd like him a lot more if he complained a lot less. His wife is a smokeshow. Good race today though, would like to have seen Spies finish better but oh well.

Yeah, Stoner is giving some stick... but then again I'd probably arc up over some of the things that've happened to him as well - and we only know the side that the media publish; I'm sure it'd be a lot clearer from his perspective. I mean, Rossi rear ending him a few rounds back? Come on!

Exciting??? Been watching the last few races but this one actually got me up out my seat in the end. The battle for 4th was amazing and what respectful riding from simo to actually earn it the right way (finally). Glad to see Jorge in true form as well to at least keep the points race interesting. Not sure if anyone can take it from Stoner but Jorge is going to try. Great racing today.

Yep - glad to see Jorge keep the fight alive. His race wasn't that "exciting" but he stayed consistent and got the job done.

And what about the 125 race?? Now THAT was a nail biter ;D

think i have to wait till tuesday to see the other two classes race. weak... i don't watch the 125 very often though so at least i'll pay some attention this time. this season has been pretty good i must say. with the great riders coming from 250 to premier and the motor boost of premier i can't WAIT for next season already. i'd like to see jorge fight for it but pretty sure stoner has this one in the bag.

Re: MOTO GP ( R.I.P Simoncelli )

Im sure its already been mentioned but rest in peace Marc Simoncelli. He passed today after a horrible crash in Sepang. 24 years old and had everything going for him. This was extremely hard to watch and can't imagine what his family and friends are dealing with. The moto gp and motorcycle community will always remember the amazing risk taker that was Simoncelli. I for one loved to hate him but no one rode with more passion out there. My prayers to all of them.

I was just watching the video. What the hell happened...? Looks like he was already off the bike when he was hit....?

Truly horrible. Rest in peace marco simoncelli, prayers go out to all his family and friends, and also to the friends and family of Dan Wheldon, another motorsport star who lost his life doing what he loved just days ago.
Makes you think....

The "official recap" was that he lost his wheels and would have went down sliding like most gp crashes but while trying to safe it from going down his front tire caught traction while his rear did not which sent him into the middle of the track being hit in the back by Edwards and in the head by Rossi. Watching the news replay this even slower literally made me sick to my stomach. It does bring more clarity but if you aren't ready for it I suggest to many to not watch it. Being a fan of this sport it feels like losing a friend and true fellow rider.

His poor family......
So very sad. Our thoughts are with them, and also Colin and Vale who probably feel awful, but really couldn't do a thing to avoid him.

What a tragic loss too, for GP. Marco was getting into his stride and starting to push the big boys. He was a great talent and exciting to watch, his results were getting better and better.
It's a sad time.

Paul and Tim Titan Performance.

Re: MOTO GP

Condolences from Alabama. We watched in horror when it happened, and it was just unavoidable no matter how you slice it. Still doesn't take away the sting.
