Just watched a show on discovery about Michael Czysz founder of Motoczysz. In 18 months his company went from a home garage to having a brand new bike that is almost ready to compete in MotoGP.

The website is a little vague about the status of the bike, but it is still pretty impressive that they have come this far is that short amount of time.

The bike has some pretty interesting new technology in the engine and suspension.

Michael Czysz's grandfather, Clarence Czysz was also a fairly famous Norton tuner.

Definitely worth watching if you get the chance.
 
There's also an article in the latest Cycle World mag. Apparently the bikes are much more reliable now. I watched it last night. They literally built that bike from the ground up. There are so many innovations on that bike. It's impressive what they were able to create on a relatively small budget. The documentary is definitely worth checking out.
 
I've followed the brand since its inception, so i anxiously awated the show. My hat's off to DiscoveryHD. They did a great job.

I watched the end of that show last night. Pretty neat stuff, but it was really vague on what the innovations are. Maybe it's because I only caught the last 20 minutes, but I was lost on what the details are.

They really talk more about the new technology earlier in the show. The end is more about them testing and setting up the bike. I thougt the Z-Line four engine was the coolest part. Two crankshafts rotating in different directions to help stabilize the bike coming out of a corner, and coming from a guy with no background in engineering, pretty impressive.
 
A couple of years ago at the Cycle World show here in Seattle, I got a chance to meet him & even got a chance to hear it, as I was outside buying my ticket a huge crowd gathered around it, I fought my way thru & was standing right next to it, sounds really Cool!
 
I met one of the drive train guys recently at a non-motorcycle event and I get a strong impression that there's a LOT of shit they don't tell you in the documentary. It's a pretty slick bike.
 
I just finished watching the doc. I DVR'd it the other night when it was on and hadn't had the chance to finish it until now. After watching (it was really good, Discovery HD did a good job) and checking out the motoczysz website there is one thing that really bothers me about the project... Anyone that is a fan of MotoGP (like me) gets caught up in the whole season... who's riding what... the tech aspects... the series... etc... Everywhere I look I am surprised that no-one is mentioning the fact that these guys are developing a bike that doesn't comply with the current MotoGP rules. When they started making this bike the MotoGP bikes were all 990cc, like the C1, but now all the MotoGP bikes are 800cc. These guys are developing a motor and tuning and making parts etc... that has a larger displacement then legal. For some reason that bothers me... maybe they will (or have) decrease(d) the bore size... maybe its not a big deal... just bugs me that no one address' it.
