Multi seat set-up

Been Around the Block
I have a 1976 cb 750 super sport and i have been trying to figure out a way that i could mount a cafe seat on my frame without removing my option of placing the stock seat on the bike. I have thought about building a mounting braket to use the stock mounting seat set up on the cafe seat but i would have to dremel out the side of the cowl ( NOT TO KEEN ON IT) Im wondering if one of the dcc universal mounts will work to keep the frame intact of if with a little bit of fab work i can make a simple and easy way to attach the cafe seat that wont prevent easy removal and replacement of the stock seat.

Thanks

My brother has a modern bonneville with flat seat and removable cowl hump. Bolts on and off in seconds...good solution for a 2-up option with 1-up looks.

Theres a ton of info on here in reference to modular seat set ups. Really not being a jerk here, but try the search function. I know its not the best, but it does help.

Also, look at the modern triumph Thruxton aftermarket. There are a bunch of seats like the one you describe sold for that bike.

I dont know how the 750 seat mounts, but on both my CB450 and my R5, they are held on with pins and clips. So you could always build a bracket for your aftermarket seat that can be mounted the same way that way all you have to do is pull the pins and swap the seat. I used the stock mounting points on my CB450 so that i could flip the aftermarket seat up just like the factory and retain easy access to the battery.
Just a thought...

Is it like a cloth up or is it a fiberglass type hump , that sounds like an interesting option.

ABS plastic, I believe. Same seat Yinzer is talking about. Looks like a cafe seat with it, a bench without it.

You could probably mount the stock Triumph unit on your bike somehow.

The 750 uses a single large hinge on the left side of the seat and it has a peg and lock latch that is on the right side , the little peg goes down in the lock and the lock pits a bar onto the lat h
