My 1969 CB450, not so shiny but here she is!

Thought I'd post some pics of my lady, a 1969 CB450 titled as a -71, it was supposed to be a complete café rebuild but after changing just some minor things I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. The only thing left to do is to get the cam timing right and then I'm off to get my license!

She's a bit dirty and not in any way a headturner, but she's mine.
And yeah, I love my ghettostyle leopard print seat! ;D

Still have some minor things I wanna do, but since I'm dirt poor it'll have to wait.
Getting her running again is my main goal!

I bet it's a blast to ride around. If I were to get a smaller cc bike I'd like to get a xs400 or cb450. I love my 750 but for city traffic I'd love to rock a little bike around

Thanks!
I really appreciate the kind words and I'm sure the old girl does too!
Will hopefully recieve the camchain masterlinks tomorrow, so she will be up and running again in no time!

And yeah, It's a blast to ride it! Although I have no license, I have been taking her for some minor spins in the dark of the night. ::)
I was a bit skeptical about some people saying the 450 "pulls like a train" but now I know what they talk about! It's way faster than I imagined!

Again, thanks for the comments!

Nice man, I like it a lot. If your going to get a smaller bike get an xs360 rather then the 400. Far superior bike.

But that is one sweet bike

Well, I have now taken care of the cam timing issue and everything is lined up properly and the valves are set to spec.
I must have done something right because now she starts on the first kick without any trouble whatsoever and runs PERFECT.
Used to have the well known high idle issue (around 3000rpm) but a good carb cleaning and synch took care of that.

Now It's just a matter of gathering cash so I can get my license and let the old girl see some real roadtime.

And just a fun fact; I do not have and I will not get a car license, I love bikes with all my heart and this lady will be my daily driver most of the year.
For the colder months I'm considering getting a Honda Dominator (don't ask, I kinda fell in love with the look of the stock exhaust and engine) to go a bit tracker-ish with, so there won't be any cage on wheels for me!

And again guys, thanks for all the kind comments! Me and the girl appreciate it! :D

you made history with the leopard print seat. It has a bit of punk rock with the x'ed out head light and seat. I wont copy the gusto but I will think hard next time I upholster a seat.

Thanks guys!

DC74inc: I was kinda going for a bit of a punkrock look, so your comment totally made my day! And for all it's worth, copy anything you might like, we are all here to share! ;D
