My 7 year old daughter just freaked me out

She was upstairs cleaning her room (bomb testing up there earlier apparantly) and down the stairs starts wafting Three Little Birds - Bob Marley. She's singing the song in school choir. So now we're grooving to Bob Marley.

Well that all depends - Roth or Hagar?

Roth... Jump... Almost grabbed the phone out of his hands the other night and chucked it out the van window ;D

i donno man, humans being from van hagar was pretty cool... LOL

i grew up to bands like iron butterfly, the doors, CCR, so its all fine to me.... and im only 23.

My 14 year old's phone has some screamo ring and his hold song is "Pop,lock and drop it". Where did I go wrong?

I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the stuff I've found on his Ipod-80's new wave, Misfits, Rhymesayers, etc. I blew his mind the other day when he was listening to Mickey Avalon and I knew the name of the song. But I'm in a band and hang out with djs, so music old and new is always around.

Son just recently discovered some original metal " Iron Maiden" and my daughter has been caught listening to Black Sabbeth , Paranoid.

Both good choices as far as I am concerned , I was an 80s metal head so it brings back fond memories for me ::)

I reckon a good way to help expand their music taste in a subtle way would be to get them to check out the 'Supernatural' series. Best soundtrack ever, all the older stuff kicks ass!

I'm at uni at the moment and the amount of hectic dance and R&B around is freaking me out. Good on occasion, but I'd rather listen to Megadeth or Steppenwolf.

I thank good everyday for Guitar hero 2 and 3

My 9-year-old nephew now knows tons of rock bands

He heard my ring tone (Tool - The Pot) and started singing along
Then asked me to put it on his phone

The fact he knows all the words to Metallica’s ONE brings tears to my eyes

Toootally. I came home yesterday and my cat had pulled Deicide "Scars Of The Crucifix" out of my records shelf and was just fucking GIVIN' er!
I was like "Son, you gonna be alright".
