Been Around the Block
So, next week is my birthday. I've been looking for a bike that was made the same year I was born. Finally saw one on CL. A 1964 Honda CA95 BABY DREAM. The guy wanted $1650 for it. I went and checked the bike. I couldnt believe how clean it is. I would have paid him $1650 for it. However, I offered $1000, he counter with $1200 and we settel on $1100!!!!!! with a title from 1978! well here's she is!!!!!!!!!

So it's in your driveway now? Hope so! Awesome deal - don't touch a thing, just ride it.

If you're curious, the little holes on the handlebars are for turn signals. They weren't required in the US but in other countries they were (like mine in Canada). The signals clamp onto the bars and the wiring is internal.

The rear signals go where the rectangular covers are just behind the upper rear shock mounts.

Again, not standard in the US. Maybe at some point someone replaced the handlebars, or maybe they just came with holes.

Mine is ultimately going to be black as well. It's red now. Great score!

I was just wondering about the turning signals. I am in Cali, dont know if it needed or not. Will find out when I take it to the DMV on Monday. The title was so old, the bike is not in their system anymore. I have to bring it in so they verify it. stupid!

DAMN!!!!!!!!! you are one lucky man,... I've been wanting one of these for years!!! What a steal!! Congrats!!! :D

Gorgeous! You got a seriously good deal as well!
Any plans for it?

I am going to clean her up and replace any worn out pars. keep her orginal as can be. maybe adding turn signals. Thats about it.

Very nice dude! the power of negotiation prevails :)

also noticed the montero, I loved mine but i drive way too much so the gas milage was a con. anyways, enjoy both!

That looks great. I want to add a thought. The "survivors" in the auto world have become a big deal. It appears you have a survivor in the bike world. It's yours' to do as you see fit but you are a caretaker. I have completely changed my attitude about this in the last 5 years. As old and good becomes rarer, I want to protect it for awhile longer. If it's rough, than there isn't much to be lost. I can't imagine that you won't have a grin from ear to ear while riding this. :)
What a wonderful period in history.

what a deal... wish i had the space for one!i remember 3 years ago seeing them all over the place for about 500- 800 bucks in great condition... now i see them for 3000!
