Mx-5's are basically motorcyles with four wheels and a bigger fairing! They are a ton of fun to drive on the track though! I used to race a 240sx (with a bit of fun wrenched in ;)) on the locals day at a nearby makeshift course. My mom has an mx-5 that I did a lil work to back in the day, really fun little cars! Tuners have been just a part of my past these days but I had a lot of fun with them!

Poke and stretch. :)

It's a German thing. In Germany the regulation is that the tread of the tires can not extend further than the outside lip of the fender. To get past this and still fit wide rims on the car they stretch the tires on the rims. This way they still get a wider contact patch on the tire and stronger, and nicer looking rims.

Look for a German wheel over a JDM wheel, much stronger. They have the highest standards for their wheel manufacturing.

people make me laugh with their terminology of JDM......JDM means japan domestic market, meaning it comes on a car, or is a car for the japan market. there is nothing JDM about wheels unless they are factory wheels then they are just made in japan.

I had a laugh at that too! A guy once told me (when I had my 240) that he had rebuilt his KA24DE with JDM pistons! I ask him what the point of that was? He told me they gave him 20hp! Hahaha! The KA24DE was only used in trucks in Japan! They dont have 240's there! Even if he did rebuild with them, it would have made no difference, spec were the same on OEM and JDM! Silvia's and 180's are the body equal to the states market 240. Silvia had the well know SR20DET while the 180 had a 1.8L motor that I don't know the code to! On any part, this kid was a dumb ass! I laugh almost every time I hear someone use the term "JDM" in context because 90% of the time it is misused! I built mine with JIC pistons, which did increase my power! ;D
