My CB360 barn find

Thanks man! My wife is going to help me get my garage organized for my bday! It'll be nice to have everything in its place, maybe I can spend more time working on the bike and less time looking for tools and parts

Thank you all! its been a good birthday so far! got everything i needed to organize the garage as well as a bunch of parts for the 360. got the all balls tapered baring kit for the front stem. all my electrical components to finish wiring it all up, all my turn signals and pretty much everything i need to get it done. now i am just waiting on the parts to come in so i can get it finished! thanks for all the happy birthdays and most of all thanks for all the help each of you have given me on my build! you guys all rock!

Hey man, happy belated. Your project is very inspiring, as is your wife, I'm talking to mine tonight!

So it's not perfect but I am super happy with my new garage! It's the biggest cleanest garage I have ever had! I built the workbench yesterday. It's awesome!

thanks trek. im not sure if i will be able to keep it as clean as it is now, but im gonna do my best, when was the last time your garage was that clean? haha we might actually be able to see that mustang you have lurking in your garage!

Any way back on topic, i ordered a new set of throttle cables and the push cable is like an inch longer than the old beat up stock one i had. so there is a ton of slack. is there anything i can do about that other than send it back and order one from somebody else? this is the second set of cables i got that didnt fit. the first set was from sirisconsolidated and they were supposed to be "shortened for clipon bars" they were to short. these new ones i got off ebay and they are too long.. whats going on here?

and your bike looks very classy in that newly cleaned up garage. As for the cable cut it, drill a small hole in the end peice. Put the cable through and solder it to length.

thanks axeugene, i am way excited about the new work space. i am less excited about having to cut and solder my new cables. thats kind of a pain in the butt. but atleast this way i can shorten them a good amount so they work with the clipons. it looks like its going to be a hassel. i dont have any of the right soldering stuff so i will have to get the flux and some 5050 solder. do you know if i can do it with my same old crappy soldering iron or do i need something better than that, if you can point me in the direction of a forum post that would be helpful. im sure there is one already on here, or if you have any good advice on how to do it that would be awesome!
thanks again!

Quick... go get some Garage floor epoxy paint and seal up that floor. It is SOOOOOO worth doing. One of the best things I did when we bought our house... I could spill a gallon of used motor oil on the floor and clean it up... don't try that with raw concrete. Best $250 bux and afternoon I spent in the last 4 years I do think. Even dust and general crap is so much easier to clean up. I see you re already getting some oil spots.

For a cable, you should "hardsolder" it. Using a small gas-torch. A soldering iron won't do the trick (if you want to be safe).

Oil spots are from the privous owner, it's a rental, being in the military we just got on base housing, the home is only 6 months old and it is super nice. But yea if we ever get back to the home we own in Utah I will for sure do the epoxy floor

Also I Got my set up for soldering the cables, just wanted to make sure I got the right stuff. I got the little butane torch so I can try and keep the heat mostly on the end, I was thinking of doing a heat sink copper wire to keep the heat from moving to far down the cable. Also I got the silver bearing solder. Acid core. Is that the right stuff?

That copper wire heatsink is a good idea, if it is big enough (use many tight windings), 2 pieces of aluminum between the vice is also a good option.
That solder seems to be ok for the job as it is silver solder.
Cool little torch...I'll have one too :p
