My Jag XJ6

My cage.

It is a 1984 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 litre , 5 speed manual. (or as the Americans amongst us would say, stick shift)
Not my daily driver. As with most of my possessions, needs work.

Don't blame yourself, jaguars are awfully unreliable. ask your local jaguar mechanic!

that's crazy.
my old lady had a series 3 sovereign in gold. wish she'd never gotten rid of it, she ended up getting about $1500 tradein...
if i kept it, i would've put a toyota 1uzfe in there by now. :D

that would have been a great swap...

the 1uzfe is my favorite motor... can be built to way over 1000 hp with a good plan and some money.

I can't wait for my LS400 to be transfered to my name (come on 18th birthday :D :D)

i always dreamed of doing a ITB setup with trumpets. its a bit too "muscle" for a jag though.

Well, the 5 speed in my jag is a Toyota Supra box, so I guess it is doable. My old man used to own a Soarer (Jap import) with the 4litre V8. Is that the donk you refer to?

That's the one!
Having said that, if I already had the t156 box, I'd stick to the straight6 theme and just use the 2.5tt (1jzgte) motor that comes in most soarers (at least the ones here)
that way the box mates up for sure and all you need to do is the mounts, exhaust and wiring. Just redoing the exhaust and ecu will give you over 300hp at the crank.
1jz's are cheap as piss here. I'm thinking about putting one into a ke70 I'm planning on modernizing.

I presume you are talking about a turbo. Not really in keeping with my idea of a Jag.
I have contemplated an LS1 but I am liking the idea of the Toyota 4L V8.
Where does one acquire such a beast and how much would one expect to pay?
