Yup, it's a KZ440... Hasn't been running very well until today :-X
After following some advice from an oldie at the local kawi dealer, I went to the local harbor freight and picked up some mini drill bits... That was the golden ticket. The stock jets were about a .6mm drill bit and I opened them up to about .8mm.... that was what she needed! This thing hauls balls! I probably still need to shim the needle a little cause a notice a stutter in the upper rpm's... But I'll get that whipped.
Thought I would post a couple pics from today. Here you can see I mounted the stock speedo in the center with a home made bracket. Also made some "intake extenders" out of some PVC 45 degree angle (only cause cv carbs don't like how the air flows through pods)
I've been loving this build so far, still can't wait for the next! I'm still waiting to hear about the other KZ440 and also got a lead on a cb500 if the guy will ever call me back...
Cool bike, I'm working on a '77 KZ400, had it running well w/ most of the airbox in place, got a set of pods for it, figured on having jetting issues, but had no idea airflow also an issue. Did you smooth out the inside of the PVC elbows?
on to the pics!
