Need a little guidance

Fox

I've still got those patches...
Hey all,

I've got a '75 CL360 and I'm trying to mount the rear sets I got from Dime City Cycles in the passenger peg mounts. What I thought was going to be relatively plug and play, has ended up in some difficulties.

The first is that the bolt threads to mount my rearsets does not match up with the passenger peg threads. There is a nut that I can't remove due to a metal bracket holding it in. I've thought about just cutting the bracket and taking the nut out, but I didn't want to cut anything before I was sure that's what I have to do. You can see a picture of what I'm talking about below(Picture 1 & 2).

My second problem is how to connect my brake and shift levers to the rear sets. I've got a pair of link rods that fit my rear sets, but I need some sort of arm to connect it to the shift spline. I found these Click here to see them. I think it would work, but I'd like a confirmation before I go for it.

The brake lever is a bit of a different story. Theres 11 pages of different brake arms on that same website that I linked to and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one I need. I thought this one since it says it fits a CB350, but I'm still not sure. I've been using this bike as a guide/inspiration for my build(Picture 3 & 4). I've looked all over for a build thread or an email for him, but I can't seem to find one. From what I can tell, he completely got rid of the front brake assembly and I'd like to do the same, but I don't know how he wired his brake light to illuminate. Is it already wired so that It would illuminate when I pull my Handlebar brake lever, or would I need to wire that in somehow? Are there other complications that I'm not thinking of if I were to eliminate the stock brake peg?

Thanks for any help you can give. Floundering a bit here!

I cut off the captive nuts on the back of the pass peg bracket and put the bolts in from the back.

Check out the instructions I got from the place I bought my rearsets. The pictures should show you how they are put together.

Thanks, that's a great link. It helped. Any word on electrical?

Do you have a picture of your current brake set up?

I didn't bother with the rear light switch. I use my front brake 99.9% of the time that I use my rear brake so I thought it redundant.

I need to source some lock nuts, lock tight or get out the safety wire as the vibes keep loosening everything up.

Thanks for posting those Rusnak. They were a great help. One more quick question, how did you get the brake lever on the rear wheel to flip up like that?

you have to pull the wheel off, take the brake drum apart, remove the shaft and flip it 180 degrees.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to see if there was an easier way.

Thanks for all your help on this. I may be sending you a few more questions later on if that's alright. Your bike is rather similar to what I'm looking to do, it's just the matter of getting it to look as good as yours!
